grawk Posted December 29, 2010 Author Report Posted December 29, 2010 lots of Habs jerseys in attendance, but the caps are playing their A game
grawk Posted December 29, 2010 Author Report Posted December 29, 2010 Apparently a montreal fan group sent 900 fans to this game, so I doubt I made RDS...
GPH Posted December 29, 2010 Report Posted December 29, 2010 Yeah, I watched a good part of the game and didn't see you. The Habs were playing sloppy as they've been doing for the past weeks and the Caps were good. Thumbs up for honoring your part of the deal.
grawk Posted December 29, 2010 Author Report Posted December 29, 2010 cheering for the caps dressed like that got some attention and I talked to a lot of folks b/c of the jersey. I'm tempted to go dressed as a visitor to every game I attend. it was a blast.
aardvark baguette Posted December 29, 2010 Report Posted December 29, 2010 Go in a caps jersey to a philly game
grawk Posted December 29, 2010 Author Report Posted December 29, 2010 I will, I went to a phantoms game at the spectrum in my caps jersey
skullguise Posted December 30, 2010 Report Posted December 30, 2010 That's daring, for sure...... I always liked this sign in Boston
bozebuttons Posted December 30, 2010 Report Posted December 30, 2010 Islanders just beat the penguins in a shootout, shut down Crosby breaking his point streak:jbl:
skullguise Posted December 30, 2010 Report Posted December 30, 2010 ^^^ Good on NYI, such an underdog team, I almost always root for them if the Bruins aren't playing them. It's funny to see the reactions to great players like Crosby and Stamkos. Maybe it's the media hype, maybe it's the reputation for whining. But outside of Pitt, it seems many a folk don't like Sidney, and tons of folks like - or at least strongly respect - Stamkos. Ovechkin is another one, but I think he has a lot more detractors outside of Washington.
tom_hankins Posted January 8, 2011 Report Posted January 8, 2011 Leafs 9/Thrashers 3.....Three hours of my life I'll never get back.
aardvark baguette Posted February 4, 2011 Report Posted February 4, 2011 Three fights in the first 4 seconds of the game, then two goals in the firsttwo minutes. Nice hit at the end too. http://msn.foxsports.com/video/NHL?vid=a9114f31-9ff2-4aef-992c-c74427ae8ae8&from=en-us_msnhp>1=39002
skullguise Posted February 5, 2011 Report Posted February 5, 2011 Yeah, it's too bad the Bruins only play Dallas once or twice a year.....they've got this amazing rivalry going so it seems! Reminds me of the movie Slapshot.....need to go watch that again.....
skullguise Posted February 11, 2011 Report Posted February 11, 2011 And in another Slapshot-influenced game, the Bruins and Habs played some good old tyme hockey last night! Habs have had the Bruins' number all year, so this was a winner; two of the best defensive teams had an 8-6 score. Over 120 minutes of penalties. Some ugly stuff by both teams, as well as the usual ref stupidity all around. But it was just SO 70's it was a joy to watch!
bozebuttons Posted February 12, 2011 Report Posted February 12, 2011 (edited) Islanders get revenge on penguins 9to 3 best of all 14 fighting majors,21 game misconducts 346 penalty minutes,at the end of the game only 2 pequins ,5 islanders left on the bench.Hockey old school.Great to watch. boomana Posted February 12, 2011 Report Posted February 12, 2011 I've apparently been missing some good games.

Holy cow! I watched some highlights on TSN.CA.....good for the Isalnders!! Was Matt Cooke manhandled in any of them? Please say yes..... Reminds me of the Jim Carr character from Slapshot: "Everyone's on their feet yelling, 'KILL! KILL! KILL!' THIS....IS.....HOCKEEEEYYYYYYY" Love these rivalries

Please say yes..... Reminds me of the Jim Carr character from Slapshot: "Everyone's on their feet yelling, 'KILL! KILL! KILL!' THIS....IS.....HOCKEEEEYYYYYYY" Love these rivalries Matt Cook was watching from the visitors box ,serving a couple of game suspension for a hit on someone else. The Islanders where sending a message, don't fuck with them. They showed they stick up for each other.Good for them.
GPH Posted February 13, 2011 Report Posted February 13, 2011 I enjoyed the Price vs Thomas "fight" the other night, it was fun to see a bit of old-time rivalry with the Bruins. Now if the Nordiques could get back here...
skullguise Posted February 13, 2011 Report Posted February 13, 2011 I enjoyed the Price vs Thomas "fight" the other night, it was fun to see a bit of old-time rivalry with the Bruins. Now if the Nordiques could get back here... Yeah, Carey got the better of Tim once Tim grabbed the wrong sleeve ! After Tim slipped/Carey took him down, they got up, and you could see them smiling. I actually liked that, kind of a respect thing, for each other and for the fact that neither of them are fighters.
bozebuttons Posted February 13, 2011 Report Posted February 13, 2011 Islanders fined $100K by the NHL for not controling their players. Gilles suspended for 9 games,Martin for 4 Godard of the Penns 10 game suspension for leaving the bench to jump in on Haler when he went after Johnson.
skullguise Posted February 13, 2011 Report Posted February 13, 2011 And Mario the whiner complains it wasn't enough..... I forgot that Cooke was out on suspension, too bad. Would have been nice to see him get more of what's due to him. He did a fair bit of borderline cheap crap to the Isles....just as he's done to many a team.
bozebuttons Posted February 16, 2011 Report Posted February 16, 2011 (edited) Its been fun to watch the Islanders the last 4 games, they are on a tear 24 goals ,4 wins.3 of them comeback wins Grabbner 16 goals in 15 games,25 goals this season leading rookies in the nhl ,picked up on waivers from florida. Last nights shootout win against the Senns, players on the bench had on ralley caps (helmets on backwards) during the shootout. You can check it out on NHL.com This is a young talented team having fun. They are to far down to make the playoffs, but they are headed in the right direction, seems as tough they have found their Mojo. Edited February 16, 2011 by bozebuttons
