MrSlacker Posted September 25, 2010 Report Posted September 25, 2010 Last night was awesome! Thanks everyone!
jp11801 Posted September 25, 2010 Author Report Posted September 25, 2010 Had a great time last night. It was great to see Al, Jeff, Collin, Dinny and the Slacker. Nice to help celebrate his 21st. We started at Barcade and I like the mellow atmosphere early evening there. They had an event with a so so brewery the previous night so half the taps were Fisherman's brew. I had a Sixpoint Czech style there and a Southern Tier Mochka that were both excellent. We wandered off for food at a BBQ place around the corner. Solid beers on tap, absolutely top tier selection of bourbon and rye and some very good BBQ. Who knew pig cheeks could be that tasty. Spyutin Duyvil was right across the street so we had a few there. Great selection there that is heavy on the Belgian beers. We had a Cascade De Vine that was outstanding and a Stillwater Farmhouse Style beer that was good as well. Thanks to all for a fun night out.
tyrion Posted September 25, 2010 Report Posted September 25, 2010 Is it me or is Al enjoying that sausage a bit too much. . Mmm pig face. Sounds like you all had a good time. Wish I could have been there.
Voltron Posted September 25, 2010 Report Posted September 25, 2010 That pic was posed. Plus, I was hungry.
NightWoundsTime Posted September 25, 2010 Report Posted September 25, 2010 Looks like I must get to that spyten duvel joint someday. Tonight I'll be at CCB for a fruit
The Monkey Posted September 25, 2010 Report Posted September 25, 2010 Great to see the crew. Nums did an awesome job with the itinerary. I can also confirm that I drank all the liquor in Brooklyn. It is now a dry town, and I am fairly certain that I will die from hangover at some point today.
Voltron Posted September 25, 2010 Report Posted September 25, 2010 I dont think you cleared out thr Jaegermeister stores completely, but your Herculean efforts to clean out the Pucker stuff used in appletinis was really something to behold. Your run tomorrow will clear out the remaining cobwebs Dinny. Good luck hydrating and resting today. You would have loved all three stops, Young Matt, and it would have been fun to have you there.
MrSlacker Posted September 25, 2010 Report Posted September 25, 2010 Dinny, did you get home alright? I knew you had enough when your eyes were sweating at Spuyten Duyvil lol
morphsci Posted September 25, 2010 Report Posted September 25, 2010 Glad everyone survived. The pictures were awesome. Thanks for the vicarious good times.
tyrion Posted September 25, 2010 Report Posted September 25, 2010 Dinny, start drinking water now. As you probably know, hangover means you are dehydrated.
The Monkey Posted September 25, 2010 Report Posted September 25, 2010 Thanks Mike. I'll be drinking water all day.
VPI Posted September 25, 2010 Report Posted September 25, 2010 A few more pictures. The Slacker Some meat A little less meat Some hard core gaming. The ringleader Bathroom decorations at Barcade and at the BBQ joint
tyrion Posted September 25, 2010 Report Posted September 25, 2010 Look at Slacker all grown up. Damn, that BBQ looks great. I may just have to make some for myself. I wonder if I can find some pig face at Whole Foods.
The Monkey Posted September 25, 2010 Report Posted September 25, 2010 The bbq was delicious. And it's good to have the Slacker back in the fold. Mike, I just did a nice, slow 1.5 miles. Now I'll continue to hydrate and rest. And sweat.
tyrion Posted September 25, 2010 Report Posted September 25, 2010 Kick some ass tomorrow. I'm hydrating with alternating water and various beers.
jinp6301 Posted September 26, 2010 Report Posted September 26, 2010 Looks like a Great time!!! x2 great pictures Jeff!
NightWoundsTime Posted September 26, 2010 Report Posted September 26, 2010 Not really competition but...
jp11801 Posted September 26, 2010 Author Report Posted September 26, 2010 After a great Friday Al and I stopped off at OMA's NYC showroom to audition their slate plinted Lenco and to check out their staggering horn speakers. Oswaldsmillaudio - Contact We'll have more later on about the visit suffice to say the sound was staggering and Jonathan Weiss was an absolute fantastic host. Maybe the best analog I have heard and the speakers were mind-blowing. He'll be at RMAF if you attend you have to check out his room.
tyrion Posted September 26, 2010 Report Posted September 26, 2010 Matt don't feel bad, they were not at the Brewers Ball.
jinp6301 Posted September 26, 2010 Report Posted September 26, 2010 wow, those speakers look fantastic.
jp11801 Posted September 26, 2010 Author Report Posted September 26, 2010 Pica of dinner Saturday night at Fish on Bleeker right across from the Blind Tiger, my raw bar plate did not photograph as delicious as it tasted. Al's softshell crab that he rated as solid but nothing to write home about we started off with Ipswich clams (damn tasty and oysters wrapped in bacon and covered in a great horseradish sauce.
Dusty Chalk Posted September 26, 2010 Report Posted September 26, 2010 That's too bad, we were on bleecker st on & off throughout the day yesterday. Sent from mah Droid
