The Monkey Posted September 18, 2010 Report Posted September 18, 2010 AudioCubes.com - Denon AH-A100 100th Anniversary Over-Ear Headphones - Is there anything special here?
postjack Posted September 18, 2010 Report Posted September 18, 2010 (edited) Denon 100 - The Legacy of Firsts all kinds of good looking stuff for their 100th anniversary. the CD/SACD player looks super fine. digital inputs and everything, $2500 though. and I've seen pictures of that turntable before, looks awesome. don't know how it will all sound, but it looks just great. edit: pretty much everything in the 100th anniversary series costs $2500 on crutchfield, including the TT. the cart is $500. cans $500. The Monkey Posted September 18, 2010 Author Report Posted September 18, 2010 I think the price point for the cans is odd.

swt61 Posted September 18, 2010 Report Posted September 18, 2010 (edited) The cans don't look full sized. They look more like a gussied up AH-D1001. I'm guessing they wanted to keep them small enough for portable use, to reach the largest audience. Edit: It does say over ear, so I guess I'm off base. Second Edit: Looks like a gussied up AH-D510R. I hope wood isn't the only upgrade at a $500.00 price increase... http://www.usa.denon.com/ProductDetails/Headphones.asp Edited September 18, 2010 by swt61
postjack Posted September 18, 2010 Report Posted September 18, 2010 thumbs up git er' done yeah ima buy em all and tell y'all how they sound good
Hens Posted September 18, 2010 Report Posted September 18, 2010 Ive only heard the bottom of the line denons, but they seems pretty average to me... I wonder how they upper models compare.
padam Posted September 18, 2010 Report Posted September 18, 2010 It looks like an AH-D1100 that supposedly has aluminium housing and 50 mm drivers (angled) but with the wooden cups. The 510R uses smaller drivers.
postjack Posted September 18, 2010 Report Posted September 18, 2010 i bet the cd player is pretty nice. with the digital inputs might not be a bad get down the road on the used market.
