Dusty Chalk Posted September 14, 2010 Report Posted September 14, 2010 Sony released these back in April: The MDR-RF4000K: Also, the MRD-RF810RK (which looks to already be superceded by something). What caught my attention was one particular spec: 2.4GHz. That's the digital transmission. So I'd be curious if anyone heard this, or if we have a serious contender for a wireless headphone yet.
ktm Posted September 14, 2010 Report Posted September 14, 2010 There isn't much in the way of reviews on it out there. My experiences with older wireless makes me not trust them to be reliable. Digital just means instead of hiss/noise it will just drop in and out of service. The 2.4ghz spectrum is already chock full of toys out there.
Smeggy Posted September 24, 2010 Report Posted September 24, 2010 I imagine these would cut out whenever my microwave is on, it manages to kill my wifi in the same room.
mypasswordis Posted September 24, 2010 Report Posted September 24, 2010 Depends on the frequency, microwaves operate around 2.4GHz which happens to be quite close to the frequencies used by various wireless devices. You can try finding something that operates at a different frequency band to minimize interference.
elnero Posted September 25, 2010 Report Posted September 25, 2010 ...if we have a serious contender for a wireless headphone yet. Not full-sized but weren't Sleek Audio's wireless IEM solution thought to be pretty good? I'm fairly sure I've seen it modified to work with other IEM's as well, not sure about full-sized though.
