Covered_Ears Posted February 6, 2022 Report Posted February 6, 2022 Yeah, that's part of how I see it. Also, they're pretty separated and I try to rinse my palate, so usually I don't know if there'd be much of a perception boost there.
EdipisReks1 Posted February 7, 2022 Report Posted February 7, 2022 Only a couple dozen ways to find out!
EdipisReks1 Posted February 8, 2022 Report Posted February 8, 2022 (edited) Normcore tamper may be funny looking, but it works really well. And I’ve definitely been over tamping my pucks lately, so I know to have a little bit of a lighter touch now. Maybe I’ve been getting frustration out on my coffee. Highly recommended. It’s very well built and not super duper spendy. Edited February 8, 2022 by EdipisReks1 1
Augsburger Posted February 8, 2022 Report Posted February 8, 2022 I like to make my purchases in reverse order. I bought the VST, then the Flair 58, then this tamper. Next will be the grinder then...oh yeah the coffee. 4
n_maher Posted February 8, 2022 Report Posted February 8, 2022 ^^^ Art is not required to make sense. 1
EdipisReks1 Posted February 9, 2022 Report Posted February 9, 2022 (edited) I’ll have to supervise my coffee routine myself in the morning, I guess. Edited February 9, 2022 by EdipisReks1 2
EdipisReks1 Posted February 9, 2022 Report Posted February 9, 2022 (edited) I pulled a truly wonderful shot. Last of an Ethiopian Guji I got in NC in the fall (remember I freeze beans). I can’t complain about it at all, which is rare for me. Bright, complex, sweet, smoky. 1:2 (19.5 in) peak 6, slow pressure draw down. I’m finally dialing in the Flair, I think. EdipisReks1 Posted February 10, 2022 Report Posted February 10, 2022 Can anybody recommend a good counter top knock box? I don’t like my really cheap one, and would like to get something a little more nice to use, if that makes sense.
Augsburger Posted February 10, 2022 Report Posted February 10, 2022 Try Etsy, I have one in mind there. Be careful though, some sellers misrepresent the nature of their products and where they are made.
EdipisReks1 Posted February 10, 2022 Report Posted February 10, 2022 All of my cupping bowls are heating in the sink. Gesha cupping coming up. 1
EdipisReks1 Posted February 10, 2022 Report Posted February 10, 2022 (edited) The Deeper Roots and Levercraft were pretty similar to each other, but the St. Frank Bolivian was radically different, in direct comparison. Very fruity and funky. They were all excellent, but that one… Edited February 10, 2022 by EdipisReks1

EdipisReks1 Posted February 11, 2022 Report Posted February 11, 2022 Rocking my original pour over today. It makes perfectly nice coffee, though I don’t recommend using the permanent filter in the basket only… at the beginning of the pandemic when I couldn’t get coffee filters I tried the permanent one. I used a paper towel the next day.
HemiSam Posted February 11, 2022 Report Posted February 11, 2022 Paper towel, toilet paper...whatever it takes for proper caffeination. Powa' to the peeps! HS

EdipisReks1 Posted February 12, 2022 Report Posted February 12, 2022 It works perfectly with the Ode too, which is nice.
mikeymad Posted February 13, 2022 Report Posted February 13, 2022 just in case you want to mok your coffee 2
EdipisReks1 Posted February 13, 2022 Report Posted February 13, 2022 Blind shaker works as advertised. Fluffy, relatively well distributed grounds. I didn’t get it quite ready to immediately tamp, but it was also my first time. I also just like it. It reminds me of the Option-O Remi in design and build, and is just a pleasure to use.
EdipisReks1 Posted February 15, 2022 Report Posted February 15, 2022 I just noticed how adorable the CAFEC box is. 1
EdipisReks1 Posted February 15, 2022 Report Posted February 15, 2022 The Ode is my development grinder. I’m not sure I know what I’m developing, but it’s a good chalkboard. 1
