Suggestions on where to get roasted beans? Need to stock up on a good variety to sample, figure I’ll need the extra energy to runaway away from Coronavirus zombies.

This won’t be a sexy suggestion, but I found a local roastery I enjoy just by punching “coffee” in to google maps and sampling the roasteries that popped up.

Far & away, my favourite:  https://squareup.com/store/caffe-amouri

I tend towards Badlands, No. 7, Monsooned Malibar, and Columbia La Vega, but Dutchess is by far their biggest seller.

If you want one with an animal connection, Intelligentsia Black Cat Project is also really good.

I should probably get their decaf, as I don't really like Caffe Amouri's decaf offerings, and I did like regular Black Cat Project when I was drinking it.

DoubleShot out of Tulsa (and I'm nowhere near OK) is my favorite.  Drinking the Panama Bambito Natural right now.  Very good.

The Maduro is always good (Columbian) and what put them on the map.

And the Ethiopian is always good.

The owner / roaster is pretty amazing at his art IMO....certainly for my palette.  I tend to lean towards a medium roast vs a very dark roast.

Cheers...

I'm still an Old BIsbee Roasters guy. They've never let me down and are on the more affordable side of small batch from my experience.  They tend toward the darker side of roasting but have gotten a lot better about that than they used to be. I'd suggest their sampler to see how their tasting notes compare to how you taste coffee.

And one more recommendation.

This is from the place that we buy our green coffee beans.

Bodhi Leaf Coffee Traders

https://www.bodhileafcoffee.com/

They have lots of single origin and weekly specials. Their cupping notes are pretty accurate.

https://www.levercraft.com/decent-espresso-club This is a small coffee shop in Austin that is roasting far better coffee than I can. He’s hurting right now because he just bought a lot of really expensive Yemeni coffee. If you have it in your budget it’s a cup of a lifetime and would help a small shop survive the trump plague.

I don't see the Yemeni, grawk.

I just had a couple of pounds delivered on top of one I had already from DoubleShot, but I'd like to take a look at these folks as they are not too far from me.

^^ My guess is that to get to the Yemeni he's got to clear some of what he already has listed. It's spendy but I'll try to slide an order this guy's way, Dan. I'm nervous what the shipping is going to be for glass bottles of coffee beans.

EDIT - in case anyone is curious, it's about $8 to ship 2 bottles (1lb).

yup, first one.  It's $8 for up to 4 bottles...that's what I ordered.

The Kenyan is fucking fantastic too.  I've had 6 lbs of that.

Suggestions on a small grinder for doing just a couple cups? Manual is fine. I want to switch up the beans I'm drinking during the day and the larger hopper on my grinder makes it a pain.
