Aimless1 Posted November 4, 2010 Report Posted November 4, 2010 Count me in, and I'll help with expenses. Not planning on bringing anything, but if you see something you'd like to hear I'll tote it along. Looking forward to meeting everyone
morphsci Posted November 4, 2010 Report Posted November 4, 2010 I will be there. If someone wants to hear either the BHSE or the BA v. 1.0, let me know. I can bring one or the other. I need to come up with a signature cocktail for the meet, that's the important stuff.
Absorbine_Sr Posted November 4, 2010 Report Posted November 4, 2010 I like the sound of a signature cocktail.
Absorbine_Sr Posted November 6, 2010 Report Posted November 6, 2010 Jim, you may want to consider Meyer Lemons as an ingredient as these are approaching ripeness and a couple can be grabbed from our "lobby".
morphsci Posted November 6, 2010 Report Posted November 6, 2010 ^^^ Those would be excellent in a sidecar. So perhaps a sidecar variation ....
kevin gilmore Posted November 7, 2010 Report Posted November 7, 2010 More than happy to help with the expenses. Signature cocktail... Great idea. Should i bring a gallon or two of the 190 proof ultra high quality drinkable ethanol to spice things up? Or maybe a few bottles of 10**18 hplc water... Great stuff over ice. (at $60 a quart it had better be)
Aura Posted November 12, 2010 Author Report Posted November 12, 2010 If someone wants to hear either the BHSE or the BA v. 1.0, let me know. I can bring one or the other. Just realized I had missed this bit - wouldn't mind hearing the BHSE, if you're willing to bring it Jim. Never got a chance to try it out at CanJam.

morphsci Posted November 12, 2010 Report Posted November 12, 2010 (edited) Consider the BHSE there (along with Omegas and Omega IIs so no drinking near them). Oh and I will bring the ingredients for the two signature cocktails, the Head-case sidecar and the Head-case Sazerac. Edited November 12, 2010 by morphsci
jvlgato Posted November 12, 2010 Report Posted November 12, 2010 Great, thanks, Jim! Just had my first Sazerac last night while out at a restaurant; they actually had it listed on the menu. Pretty darn tasty! I look forward to the HC version!
Absorbine_Sr Posted November 12, 2010 Report Posted November 12, 2010 what would be the earliest that i could arrive in Chicago? i'm trying to decide if it's worth it to take a day off work or not. Jacob, I have the Friday before off so I could pick you up. You'll have accommodations. Are there any other drop off points besides Downtown Chi?
Absorbine_Sr Posted November 12, 2010 Report Posted November 12, 2010 The only other stop is Indianapolis. Yeah, Chicago is better. But if I intercept the bus around Crown Point and match speed you can jump into the open convertible and we'll shave 30 minutes off the trip. Whadya think?
jvlgato Posted November 12, 2010 Report Posted November 12, 2010 Unfortunately, can't help you out on Fri daytime due to work. Fri night, maybe ... you can hang out with our two 5 year olds!
jvlgato Posted November 12, 2010 Report Posted November 12, 2010 Well, last week they had a shot of gummi worms in flavored corn syrup. They like 'kid wine', which is what we call sparkling cider. Sometimes we take a glass of milk, then squeeze a shot of chocolate syrup in there for them. I'll save a gummi worm shot for you! And we have lots of buckets, in case you get sick.
Absorbine_Sr Posted November 12, 2010 Report Posted November 12, 2010 Jacob, if you can get in earlier in the day on Friday it would be ideal as Bryan and his friend are doing FFF in the late afternoon/early evening and we could meet up with them. If the scheduling doesn't work, no problem, but that would be best.
digger945 Posted November 13, 2010 Report Posted November 13, 2010 i'll have to see if i can sneak a bottle on to the bus for the significant amount of booze that would be required for me to pull off such a stunt. Just don't ask anyone to hold your bag.
Absorbine_Sr Posted November 13, 2010 Report Posted November 13, 2010 (edited) Updating as I don't think I've included info on nearby lodging. All of these are technically within walking distance of our townhouse, with the Holiday Inn Express the closest. Absorbine_Sr Posted November 17, 2010 Report Posted November 17, 2010 So, floating something else out there - does anyone who plans on attending have an objection to pork? Probably of the chop variety?
Aura Posted November 17, 2010 Author Report Posted November 17, 2010 I have no objection at all, but I should probably note that my girlfriend is vegetarian. We can bring something specifically for her if you want us to, Mike. Can't wait for that weekend to get here! I'm just as excited for it as I am for Thanksgiving.
morphsci Posted November 17, 2010 Report Posted November 17, 2010 Pork and chop go together like ham and burger.

I am familiar with these things called vegetables. I'll throw a few ideas yours and her way to see what you think.
Absorbine_Sr Posted November 17, 2010 Report Posted November 17, 2010 i only have objections to pork that aren't offered to me. btw, the ticket i'm contemplating arrives at Union Station at 2:00PM on Friday. it's that or 6:15AM. will that work with the other plans for the day? Perfectly. I'm thinking we can go directly from Union Station to FFF and get a head start on the youngsters.
Aura Posted November 18, 2010 Author Report Posted November 18, 2010 Don't worry Bryan. I am familiar with these things called vegetables. I'll throw a few ideas yours and her way to see what you think. Sounds good, thanks Mike. Perfectly. I'm thinking we can go directly from Union Station to FFF and get a head start on the youngsters. Bring your A game. ...j/k. We have to drive afterwards and even on my best drinking day, I couldn't handle probably half of what you guys could throw back.
