blessingx Posted September 1, 2010 Report Posted September 1, 2010 Watching a very messed up Ustream of the ongoing Apple keynote. Difficult to see, but did a new, tiny, touchscreen nano just get released? Quote
Salt Peanuts Posted September 1, 2010 Report Posted September 1, 2010 They've unceremoniously killed the iPod classic, though. Quote
grawk Posted September 1, 2010 Report Posted September 1, 2010 They've unceremoniously killed the iPod classic, though. where does it say that? Quote
Salt Peanuts Posted September 1, 2010 Report Posted September 1, 2010 Conjecture on my end. Jobs said that they're updating all the iPod models, but didn't mention the classic. Also, in the photo of all iPod models together, classic was missing. So unless they come back to it later, I believe it's dead. Quote

blessingx Posted September 1, 2010 Author Report Posted September 1, 2010 FM radio? That doesn't sound very Apple. Quote
shellylh Posted September 1, 2010 Report Posted September 1, 2010 I like the new nano. Will probably order one for the gym. Was hoping the ipod touch would get 128GB though. Quote
blessingx Posted September 1, 2010 Author Report Posted September 1, 2010 (edited) The nano looks huge though. Also CD removed from the iTunes logo. Good-bye redbook. Edited September 1, 2010 by blessingx Quote
mypasswordis Posted September 1, 2010 Report Posted September 1, 2010 (edited) The nano looks huge though. It worked for the iPad. Kind of want, actually... curious as to the pricepoints. Edit: Nvm, too lazy to scroll down through all them pics. Too expensive, do not want. Edited September 1, 2010 by mypasswordis Quote
shellylh Posted September 1, 2010 Report Posted September 1, 2010 Price of Apple TV is nice $99. Would be nice to have just for Netflix streaming. Ipod classic still seems to exist on the Apple store. Phew. Sucks that they only have a 2GB shuffle now though. Quote
tyrion Posted September 1, 2010 Report Posted September 1, 2010 I just ordered a new nano and ATV, mostly for Netflix streaming. Now I have to return the shuffle I just bought for my wife and get her a nano as well. Quote

Maybe, by 'everything', he meant, "what? No, I'm not going to change the iPod classic, that would be like new Coke/Classic Coke all over again, I'm not that stupid".Ipod classic still seems to exist on the Apple store. Here's to hoping that it stays that way. Quote
Beefy Posted September 1, 2010 Report Posted September 1, 2010 I wonder whether the Nano will run the same O/S as the Touch. Would make an awesomely compact remote control for music playback from a computer. Quote

Salt Peanuts Posted September 1, 2010 Report Posted September 1, 2010 (edited) The new ATV was a disappointment for me. I was hoping for something that would convince me to cancel my cable TV, but this won't do it. Netflix streaming is nice, but I already have devices that can handle that. As for iPod classic, I'm somewhat tempted to grab one just in case it actually disappears. Edited September 1, 2010 by Salt Peanuts Because my typing is horrendous. Quote
blessingx Posted September 1, 2010 Author Report Posted September 1, 2010 I gave up on cable for the interwebs awhile ago, but disappointed with ATV also. Really hoping for an iOS device (though I know interface and especially controller issues are there) for additional functionality and video services through future apps. Wonder if these smaller changes will be enough to significantly boost the ATV over the mediocre 'hobby' sales previously? At least I don't regret the Woot $59 Roku purchase a few weeks ago. Quote
Salt Peanuts Posted September 1, 2010 Report Posted September 1, 2010 I'm glad that they kept the basic design on the updated Touch. I really like how my iPhone 4 looks (not that I can see it since it's in Otterbox case), but I think the glass back wasn't the best idea from durability stand point (I know two people with cracked back on their iPhone 4). Voltron Posted September 1, 2010 Report Posted September 1, 2010 No changes to Airport Extreme? Quote

jinp6301 Posted September 1, 2010 Report Posted September 1, 2010 Nano seems pretty lame to me. The new itouch looks pretty great Quote
Eric5676 Posted September 1, 2010 Report Posted September 1, 2010 I heard some wild rumor that the Ipad itself might get some kind of update. Quote
