I get all sorts of emails, most of which are rather senseless, but I found this one interesting.

Ever seen a train lay its own track?

<pedant mode> You notice that it's not actually laying the track, as the Continuous welded rails are already in place, it's "merely" bending them out of the way while it removes the old sleepers, replaces them with new ones, and relays the ballast</pedant mode>

Interesting nonetheless . Looks like its happening in Belgium. (based on the logo on one of the machines) (Infrabel, Belgian railway infrastructure manager)
