faust3d Posted July 28, 2010 Report Posted July 28, 2010 Wow, that's really impressive. Does Verizon=Fios? Cost? I wish they'd come to Chicago! FIOS 25/25, I have a triple play package: TV/Phone/Internet for $100 a month.
jinp6301 Posted July 28, 2010 Report Posted July 28, 2010 I wouldnt mind changing to FIOS but only time warner has the korean channels that my parents want
VPI Posted July 28, 2010 Report Posted July 28, 2010 (edited) Man I pay $220 a month for my phone/Internet/Cable for Comcast and I get speeds nowhere near that. The AT&T fix has come through so now I am back to very high speeds on the iPhone. Sprint is still as crappy as ever. Edited July 28, 2010 by VPI
naamanf Posted July 28, 2010 Report Posted July 28, 2010 And that's shared between 20 people. All for the low price of $1401.95. But I'm happy to have it.
Pars Posted July 28, 2010 Report Posted July 28, 2010 Jeff: Maybe you should send those pics to Dan Hesse of Sprint
jvlgato Posted July 28, 2010 Report Posted July 28, 2010 FIOS 25/25, I have a triple play package: TV/Phone/Internet for $100 a month. Sweet! Damn, I wish it was an option here. I've researched this at length, and the most consistent thing I've read is if Comcast already has a strong presence, then Verizon probably won't bother with my area.

I've researched this at length, and the most consistent thing I've read is if Comcast already has a strong presence, then Verizon probably won't bother with my area. I wouldn't lose hope. FiOS came to my town (and couple other surrounding towns) even though Comcast, for all intents and purposes, was the only game in town. Of course, it did take them year and half to actually start offering services after signing contract with the town(s).

Salt Peanuts Posted July 29, 2010 Report Posted July 29, 2010 It appears my work as upgraded the service a bit. I suspect it'll still be back to crawling speed from 11-1 when various folks are taking their lunch breaks.
Salt Peanuts Posted September 14, 2010 Report Posted September 14, 2010 I don't know what was going on when I posted the above post, but below is what it's been like for the past two weeks. I love that upload speed is faster than the download speed.
VPI Posted September 14, 2010 Report Posted September 14, 2010 I now officially have 4G in NYC. Unfortunately it is dramatically slower than AT&T 3G.
Salt Peanuts Posted September 14, 2010 Report Posted September 14, 2010 Jebus, I hope you're not paying too much for that service.
grawk Posted September 14, 2010 Report Posted September 14, 2010 apparently it's location sensitive, so try moving the modem around
VPI Posted September 14, 2010 Report Posted September 14, 2010 I will strap it to Colin and have him wander the halls. I think there is just something wrong with it now as last week everyone in the office was using it and getting at least 2 MBPS.
cetoole Posted September 15, 2010 Report Posted September 15, 2010 Right, I got 3285/1084 off that overdrive last week.
blessingx Posted September 15, 2010 Report Posted September 15, 2010 Just walked into an AT&T store to upgrade my iPhone. Much more excited about the 25/3 fiber just scheduled. Lived with .7/.3 for most of the last decade (parts of San Francisco were early to install DSL, late to upgrade). Starting to like the 'burbs.
Sherwood Posted September 16, 2010 Report Posted September 16, 2010 Just finished hardwiring my network on a decent gig switch. Still not getting much content into the system faster than 2 mb/s or so, but now it will move around pretty quick.
mypasswordis Posted December 19, 2010 Report Posted December 19, 2010 Recently upgraded service... feels good man.
Dusty Chalk Posted May 16, 2014 Report Posted May 16, 2014 My provider has been all over the place tonight -- it was less than 12 earlier, now it's:
