Lil Knight Posted December 8, 2011 Report Posted December 8, 2011 What exactly happened with the Khozmo? They forgot those 2 Caddocks or used wrong values?
kevin gilmore Posted December 8, 2011 Author Report Posted December 8, 2011 Got an email back from toshiba (and subject to translation) the 2sc4686a part was introduced march of 2010 with a planned production run of at least 5 years. No plans to discontinue. So i don't know what is going on yet.
cobra_kai Posted December 8, 2011 Report Posted December 8, 2011 What exactly happened with the Khozmo? They forgot those 2 Caddocks or used wrong values? They forgot them. I emailed them over the weekend but haven't heard anything back yet. I still don't know how I didn't notice that they were missing until sound wasn't coming from one channel
swt61 Posted December 8, 2011 Report Posted December 8, 2011 Beautiful build! You guys are really doing some impressive work.
TMoney Posted December 8, 2011 Report Posted December 8, 2011 (edited) Very nicely done. The front panel of the amp looks so clean when you can move the power switch to your PSU box. The two jack look (a la T2) is really nice. Also gogo Team Silver! Edited December 8, 2011 by TMoney
chinsettawong Posted December 8, 2011 Report Posted December 8, 2011 Nice work! I really like your shining volume knob.
Pars Posted December 8, 2011 Report Posted December 8, 2011 They forgot them. I emailed them over the weekend but haven't heard anything back yet. I still don't know how I didn't notice that they were missing until sound wasn't coming from one channel Looks like they forgot some solder on the two that are present as well...

cobra_kai Posted December 9, 2011 Report Posted December 9, 2011 ^^ I used cases from par-metal. They are the 16x12x4 model, obviously with custom panels from FPE
cobra_kai Posted December 10, 2011 Report Posted December 10, 2011 Wow mouser updated the lead time on the 2sc4686a, it is now 20 weeks with an estimated ship date of June 8 2012
n3rdling Posted December 10, 2011 Report Posted December 10, 2011 Anybody have about 60 4686 they'd be willing to sell me? Figures one of the only transistors I didn't order yet is out of stock
spritzer Posted December 10, 2011 Report Posted December 10, 2011 I've been talking to one of their reps about this so we'll see what comes of it. If they are indeed at end of life then I'll purchase a supply that will last us a long time.
eggil Posted December 11, 2011 Report Posted December 11, 2011 (edited) Cobra, would you mind posting the files for the FPE panels? Edited December 12, 2011 by eggil

cobra_kai Posted December 13, 2011 Report Posted December 13, 2011 Cobra, would you mind posting the files for the FPE panels? Not exactly sure how to post the files, but anyone that wants them can pm me with an email address and I will send them to you.
spritzer Posted December 13, 2011 Report Posted December 13, 2011 Some 4686A's here: http://www.talonix.com/shop/item.aspx?itemid=11984
Pars Posted December 13, 2011 Report Posted December 13, 2011 Not exactly sure how to post the files, but anyone that wants them can pm me with an email address and I will send them to you. Use the More Reply Options button, and then you can attach files. Not sure whether the forum software will allow those native file types, but you could zip them if not.

deepak Posted December 13, 2011 Report Posted December 13, 2011 So this is the new "good deal" price I guess, or is it still possible to get them a bit cheaper? I"ve seen price up to $6 already . Thanks for the link! Bdent has them for less: http://www.bdent.com...-p/2sc4686a.htm ($2.41 50 piece price)
cobra_kai Posted December 13, 2011 Report Posted December 13, 2011 Never bought anything from them but these guys have them for $1.99: http://netsemi.com/p-486758-bipolar-small-signal-npn-transistor-220nis1-pls-plnn-ac.aspx. If you are willing to wait for mouser they have over 1000 on order now, but you will be waiting a while...
