"Now if somebody can spot my way of dealing with the 10M90 sinks with only metric screws at hand... laugh.png"

That's what I did.

I later thought I could have drilled a hole and tapped it M3 a little higher up the heatsink, but thought the loss of mounting surface on the device would be overly compromised.

When I test the 4686 transistors I get an unexpected reading using my DMM and only with the transistors in the middle (red arrows, and on both boards):

Collector to emitter: 0.75 V

On the rest of the 4686's: OL

Both base-collector and collector-emitter conduct one way only as expected.

Why do I get those readings only with the middle ones and not the rest? both boards?

At first I thought they were damaged but its to much of a coincidence with the same ones on both boards.

Measuring anything while in circuit is always a crapshoot. Way too many variables to list.

While we are on the subject, the HV sounds fucking amazing!! Who stuck a subwoofer to my 007 Mk1's? :)

I suppose because theyre prettier, and that several companies have made it seem like the Vishay/Dale name automatically makes things better.

"So what if theyre only rated for a 500v maximum? Theyre cool!!!"

Why are people using CMF60 resistors for the bias ballast? Doesn't anybody read the bloody spec sheets?
