The Monkey Posted November 16, 2011 Author Report Posted November 16, 2011 Got this from the misses for my birthday. Quote
deepak Posted November 16, 2011 Report Posted November 16, 2011 Dinny pls post a bad ass photo of you posing with it in black and white (with cigar) Quote
cetoole Posted November 16, 2011 Report Posted November 16, 2011 Dinny that bag looks great. I need to get something for when I travel, but I don't think Tumi is in the cards. Quote
falkon Posted November 18, 2011 Report Posted November 18, 2011 Need a new bag for 13" laptop+books for school and DSLR+1 lens without laptop when traveling. Down to these choices: Tenba Messenger Mini Olive Pros: small, cheap(er) ($93), rugged, utilitarian, well built, all the pockets I need Cons: pretty generic look ONA Union Street Pros: extremely high quality, looks awesome, all the pockets I need Cons: really pricey ($269), very big (over 16" wide) Moop Messenger #2 Pros: Looks great, rugged Cons: Pricey ($183), no inserts (another $30-50) Mulholland Lombard Street Pros: Looks good, rugged, well built Cons: Pricey ($190), no inserts (another $30-50), too metro? Right now I'm leaning toward the Mulholland but it might be too metro. What do you guys/girls think? Quote
Voltron Posted November 18, 2011 Report Posted November 18, 2011 Don't like the strap that looks like a preppy cloth belt, but otherwise not metro or offensive. I like the Moop #2, personally. Distinctly not metro. Dinny, the weekender bag looks awsum. Enjoy many a fine time traveling with it. Nice wifey. Quote
falkon Posted November 18, 2011 Report Posted November 18, 2011 I think I'd need to either get a new strap or at least a shoulder pad. Quote
luvdunhill Posted November 18, 2011 Report Posted November 18, 2011 I think I'd need to either get a new strap or at least a shoulder pad. <ahem> Quote
shellylh Posted January 31, 2012 Report Posted January 31, 2012 (edited) Updated TB Ristretto. I like the front pocket. Edited January 31, 2012 by shellylh Quote
tyrion Posted January 31, 2012 Report Posted January 31, 2012 I think it may be time for an upgrade. I like the zippered front pocket. Anyone interested in a black 13" Ristretto, old model with an Absolute strap in very good condition, let me know. Quote
tyrion Posted January 31, 2012 Report Posted January 31, 2012 Maybe, how much I will pm you later. Quote
grawk Posted February 4, 2012 Report Posted February 4, 2012 http://ibackflip.com/product/ibackflip-somersault/ TUAW reports it will also fit a macbook air 11" Quote
luvdunhill Posted February 22, 2012 Report Posted February 22, 2012 Thanks Mike and Dinny. I was lax about responding, I'm sorry. Regardless, they wouldn't fit. I just bought a size 4 Tom Bihn Brain Cell. My plan is to use it inside my Tri Star and also carry it naked when I need to. We will see how that works. Quote
The Monkey Posted February 22, 2012 Author Report Posted February 22, 2012 Marc, Dunno if you saw it but I'm selling my unused Bihn Cadet for 11" MBA. I forget exactly what you're looking for but let me know if interested. For you I do good price my friend. Quote
luvdunhill Posted February 22, 2012 Report Posted February 22, 2012 Yeah, I saw that. It just won't fit my ugly un-hip corporate issued last years model that was wildly unpopular so let's sell them to our own employees HP Elite Book. Quote
swt61 Posted February 22, 2012 Report Posted February 22, 2012 ... and also carry it naked when I need to. We will see how that works. Well you do live in Austin, so that won't even garner a second look. Quote
deepak Posted April 14, 2012 Report Posted April 14, 2012 Any suggestions for an over the shoulder that is fashionable and will protect a 15.2" fatty laptop well? I am thinking leather, but understated to go well with shirt/tie type attire. I have been using a laptop backback that has 1/2" of padding on both sides of the laptop slot, but I need something not so student-ish Quote
grawk Posted April 14, 2012 Report Posted April 14, 2012 any leather briefcase with a sleeve for the laptop? I donated what you're looking for to my church yard sale last year. It sold for $5. Quote
The Monkey Posted April 14, 2012 Author Report Posted April 14, 2012 I like the Tumi Alpha Bravo line a lot, Deepak. Not sure if the 15.2" will fit though, it says up to 15"... Quote
The Monkey Posted April 14, 2012 Author Report Posted April 14, 2012 Also, Tom Bihn has a new camera bag insert thingy. I'm not a big fan of the look. http://www.tombihn.com/page/001/PROD/ACC/TB1510 Quote
swt61 Posted April 14, 2012 Report Posted April 14, 2012 (edited) I don't have a lot of experience in this area, but this Kenneth Cole bag is leather, and IMO nicely understated. http://www.ebags.com...elaid=292835726 More expensive, but even better looking... http://www.ebags.com...364661880007321 Sorry, I see that second one is too small.
