boomana Posted February 1, 2011 Report Posted February 1, 2011 I have the kit in indigo. It is gorgeous.
The Monkey Posted February 2, 2011 Author Report Posted February 2, 2011 Except I won't be there. I has sad.
boomana Posted February 4, 2011 Report Posted February 4, 2011 While waiting in line for bathroom, one of the flight attendants admired my Little Swift bag and the indigo kit peaking out of it, and wanted to know where I got it. Ended up showing her and two other intersted flight attendants my Tri-star and Mike's Aeronaut and ID. Realized I'd become a bag geek, and Bihn fangirl.
The Monkey Posted February 4, 2011 Author Report Posted February 4, 2011 I'm ordering the Tristar this weekend.
The Monkey Posted February 4, 2011 Author Report Posted February 4, 2011 The tristar will be coming out in black with ultraviolet lining shortly.
VPI Posted February 6, 2011 Report Posted February 6, 2011 Some Model shots to help the uninitiated to understand the size/colors of the Tom Bihn and Red Oxx bags. Young Model Dinny, former child TV star, is modeling his Tom Bihn ID in Black. Colin modeling Vicki's Tri-star and with the backpack straps. Jim modeling the Airboss in Safari while Al looks on wondering what the Hell we are doing. "Oh Bother" Jim giving us a sultry look while modeling his Gator is Safari. Gene showing us his Skytrain on strap. And as a back pack.
VPI Posted February 6, 2011 Report Posted February 6, 2011 (edited) Lil' Mikey looking stylish, ready for his first day of school. Mike and Gene prepare for their walk to the school bus stop. Colin modeling the Airborne C-Ruck in Black with red badge. Not garish at all Fitz. Gene with his Rockhopper in Safari ready to hit the town. Gene's travel basket in Saffron. Colin ready to hit the Castro with his purse and clutch. Edited February 6, 2011 by VPI
shellylh Posted February 7, 2011 Report Posted February 7, 2011 My aeronaut was delayed due to "adverse weather conditions."
tyrion Posted February 8, 2011 Report Posted February 8, 2011 That's the same thing that happened to my Aeronaut. After using it this weekend, I can say it is a great bag.
shellylh Posted February 8, 2011 Report Posted February 8, 2011 No trouble using the ID as a personal item either? [i wonder if I might have more trouble since the bag will look bigger on me.] The co-pilot should be here tomorrow.
Yikes Posted February 8, 2011 Report Posted February 8, 2011 I've been considering picking up a Murse. I'd like to be able to carry my iPhone, maybe my iPad, some Nick Nacks and my small frame 9mm with a spare clip. I have a permit but up to this point I haven't carried because it's a PITA. Any suggestions?

Yes, for those of us who are not as tall as others of us, the ID is kind of a big bag. But I still love it and it works great as a carry on. And you can fit a ton of stuff in it without it getting too bulky.
shellylh Posted February 8, 2011 Report Posted February 8, 2011 (edited) Vertically challenged kids need cool laptop bags too!!! Edited February 8, 2011 by shellylh

Any suggestions? Check out the Tom Bihn Ristretto with the Absolute strap. I have the 13" MB version for my iPad. It has a pocket to slip a handgun separated from where you keep the iPad or comp.

Fitz Posted February 9, 2011 Report Posted February 9, 2011 Not garish at all Fitz. Do you mean Colin or the bag? No, you're right, the red on black definitely looks a ton better in person or good photos than it does on the Red Oxx site.
shellylh Posted February 9, 2011 Report Posted February 9, 2011 Got the Aeronaut today and it is great. I tried taking pictures of it but the colors are not coming out right... the blue is more purple and darker than is portrayed in these pictures. I will try to take some in the natural light at some later point. Also, the Absolute strap is so much more awesome than I thought it would be!
boomana Posted February 9, 2011 Report Posted February 9, 2011 Shelly, they just discontinued that color, saying the last of the indigo is being used in some tri-stars. I think I'm going to order a sidekick in the indigo, just because it's such a great color.
shellylh Posted February 9, 2011 Report Posted February 9, 2011 Thanks for letting me know Vicki. I better decide if I want to get anything else in Indigo before they run out.
agile_one Posted February 9, 2011 Report Posted February 9, 2011 ^^^ Shelly, ignore Mike and Dinny .. they are nothing but Bihn shills and fanbois. The bag does look very nice, however, and that's from an Oxx person, so it's a real compliment.
morphsci Posted February 9, 2011 Report Posted February 9, 2011 I do like the color combination. Indigo and Saffron FTW
