Solude Posted September 23, 2010 Report Posted September 23, 2010 Good old kw at it again. Should have quoted the rest of the post where he pretty much disputes himself. Dampening factor can't do shit, but OTL is out, but Wa3 sounds good except that it affects the sound
Solude Posted September 23, 2010 Report Posted September 23, 2010 Why oh why can't admins be put on ignore, sigh.
spritzer Posted September 23, 2010 Report Posted September 23, 2010 The LCD-2 thread was a nice place for a while last week when chief dumbass wasn't hanging around. He really takes the art of being a fucktard to a new level...
Asr Posted September 23, 2010 Report Posted September 23, 2010 I actually wanted to go to that Portland meet they had in the summer but decided against it because kwdouche was on the attendee list (er and Ken of ALO too, who stands for everything I'm opposed to).
atothex Posted September 23, 2010 Report Posted September 23, 2010 Asr taking cues from Ray? Come on dude, that's not a legitimate reason for missing a meet. Don't let your fear control you!!
swt61 Posted September 23, 2010 Author Report Posted September 23, 2010 I got caught in Tyll's room at CJ while I was waiting for him to measure my Thunderpants. Kwarth blabbered on incessantly. I'd say it's a damn good reason to avoid a meet.
Solude Posted September 23, 2010 Report Posted September 23, 2010 Some people's presence alone gets my blood boiling. So yes I'd probably not go to a meet one of those was going to because frankly my mind would be elsewhere and my nerves shot.
GPH Posted September 24, 2010 Report Posted September 24, 2010 There are douchebags everywhere, the way to go is to ignore them. I personally wouldn't avoid going to a meet just because someone I don't like online is there, for one fool I'm sure there will be a bunch of friendly guys.
Solude Posted September 28, 2010 Report Posted September 28, 2010 Well its official, I'll be leaving the mafia. I'm really liking my second pair of LCD-2 as a rock can on the B22. Is it better than the O2? No, different, though and more focused at delivering aggressive music.
The Monkey Posted September 28, 2010 Report Posted September 28, 2010 Well its official, I'll be leaving the mafia. Then now we gotta turn our back on you.
spritzer Posted September 28, 2010 Report Posted September 28, 2010 Nahh, he wasn't even a member. Simply owning Stax gear isn't enough any more to be one...
K3cT Posted September 28, 2010 Report Posted September 28, 2010 I currently have an SR404LE and the SRM-1/MK-2 energizer on a loan. How high is this particular energizer in the chain again? Other than the slight edginess in the upper midrange area, I'm liking what I hear.
swt61 Posted September 28, 2010 Author Report Posted September 28, 2010 You have to cut the head off of a dynamic headphone user (with headphones still on) and stuff it in Jude's bed, to become a member of the Stax Mafia today. K1000 users don't count, because those are ear speakers, not headphones. I hear Skylab is the next intended victim.
spritzer Posted September 28, 2010 Report Posted September 28, 2010 A fully refurbed SRM-1 Mk2 is a solid budget unit but there is a way to go.
Solude Posted September 29, 2010 Report Posted September 29, 2010 I hear Skylab is the next intended victim. See if you would have said kw, would have been right back in

swt61 Posted September 29, 2010 Author Report Posted September 29, 2010 Let's be honest about the Sigma. While I can understand some of it's appeal, it's certainly not for everyone. The soundstage is uhm...shall we say 'different'. With certain music it's actually pretty cool, but it just makes some unlistenable IMO. Besides...three out of three Dentists recommend the K1000...
Salt Peanuts Posted September 29, 2010 Report Posted September 29, 2010 Besides...three out of three Dentists recommend the K1000... Then there are these -
luvdunhill Posted September 29, 2010 Report Posted September 29, 2010 K1k is a shitty Sigma I'd be surprised if even Biggy went to this extreme I agree with Steve more or less on this one. Except for the part about the Sigma being remotely good.
Wmcmanus Posted September 30, 2010 Report Posted September 30, 2010 Got my "It's Ok to pay for them now" email today from Alex, and I've since done so. The timing is quite fortunate, as I'll be heading to Illinois next weekend for a high school reunion, and the LCD-2 should get there before I do. Otherwise, it would probably be Christmas before I'd be able to pick them up. Even better yet, I'll be able to bring them back to Cayman with me on the return flight and they'll be within my duty free allowance. Well, not really, but with a little creative accounting...
blessingx Posted September 30, 2010 Report Posted September 30, 2010 Ah nice b-day present. Looking forward to your impressions as I just placed my order last week. Mind if I ask how long they took?
swt61 Posted September 30, 2010 Author Report Posted September 30, 2010 Wayne, do you think you'll have an amp that will drive these well enough? I know you're of the minimalist philosophy with gear in general. Seriously though, enjoy them!
shellylh Posted September 30, 2010 Report Posted September 30, 2010 Yay Wayne, a very nice b-day present.
guzziguy Posted September 30, 2010 Report Posted September 30, 2010 Even better yet, I'll be able to bring them back to Cayman with me on the return flight and they'll be within my duty free allowance. Well, not really, but with a little creative accounting... Is there any other kind? Congrats on the LCD-2s. Enjoy them.
