guzziguy Posted August 1, 2010 Report Posted August 1, 2010 That's because there are no dollar $igns on the MP3s.
luvdunhill Posted August 1, 2010 Report Posted August 1, 2010 Meh K1K FOTM , does this mean I will have an LCD2 before you ) ..dB I guess I'm having a brief lapse in the faith, huh?
dBel84 Posted August 2, 2010 Report Posted August 2, 2010 and they fall like flies funny thing is I was listening to my Leak L3000 last night and was just floored by the abilities of these vintage orthos all over. Not up with the overall abilities of the LCD2 but not shabby at all ..dB
DefectiveAudioComponent Posted August 2, 2010 Report Posted August 2, 2010 The "upgrade" was an amazing deal. yeah, especially since they haven't gotten back to me about my LCD-1 "upgrade" since we chatted right before CanJam. Then again, I bought the K1K and don't have the cash right now, but that's beside the point.
My_potpie Posted August 7, 2010 Report Posted August 7, 2010 Best thing to do is ignore most of the things you read over at h-f sadly... otherwise you'll pop a vein Already have done that, with members and admin/mod staff alike. Not a fan of how it's run.
oqvist Posted August 7, 2010 Report Posted August 7, 2010 It would be nice if this forum focused less on head fi and more on this hobby. Is this forum solely based on bitter head fiers? 90 % of the posts around here is ine one way or another just ranting about what
HDen Posted August 7, 2010 Report Posted August 7, 2010 hmmm... I don't want to cause any trouble here but just by looking at this thread I can see only a few h-f related posts, until someone comes asking some question like what's better lcd-2 or d7000 etc. Gotta read more and use the search function a bit...
manaox2 Posted August 7, 2010 Report Posted August 7, 2010 Newbies sometimes talk about head-fi a lot. In fact, its often a place people here recommend for them instead. I think the longer you stay a member here, the less most wish to continue to rant about head-fi. Well, maybe not, there is a lot of ignorant stuff said there that you do have to ignore, but its an SSDD situation that you no longer wish to hear as much about if that makes sense. And assuming you can participate and stay a member; we all enjoy our hobby, but this forum is more about a like minded community between a close group with the hobby coming somewhere inside of that. Because of that, I personally feel that the hobby banter is much more meaningful and focused on adding to the conversation when you are replying to a friend rather then a stranger. Knowing the person more can make even seemingly trivial things much more interesting and/or useful.

Wmcmanus Posted August 7, 2010 Report Posted August 7, 2010 Knowing the person more can make even seemingly trivial things much more interesting and/or useful. Ya, I had scrambled eggs and thick cut bacon again this morning. How about you?
oqvist Posted August 7, 2010 Report Posted August 7, 2010 Hmmm... you might get a good thumping on the noggin for that comment. This really isn't an anti Head-Fi site at all. I know I am sure I will but not to hard hopefully I am sure it

deepak Posted August 7, 2010 Report Posted August 7, 2010 There might have been some anti Headfi sentiment back in 2006, but no one really cares any more. It's mostly new members trying to stir the pot. Three of the mods here also moderate (or used to) on Headfi.

Knowing the person more can make even seemingly trivial things much more interesting and/or useful. Nicely said. And to help support your point, it's even more cemented after meeting you personally and finding out what a funloving, mellow guy you are. At the same time I also have to support AS's "piss off" comment. That guy hasn't been here nearly long enough to criticise how we do things.
Smeggy Posted August 7, 2010 Report Posted August 7, 2010 Yup, don't like it here or how it goes, take a big fuck off pill.
Nebby Posted August 7, 2010 Report Posted August 7, 2010 Anyone else found the irony in someone new to this forum complaining that people were complaining here too much?
manaox2 Posted August 7, 2010 Report Posted August 7, 2010 Ya, I had scrambled eggs and thick cut bacon again this morning. How about you? Scotch and buttered toast.
manaox2 Posted August 7, 2010 Report Posted August 7, 2010 Nah, TBH I woke up late, so skipped breakfast and went to chik-fil-a on the way to play volleyball. Am enjoying a ruination IPA now while I wait on fancy cheese.
mypasswordis Posted August 7, 2010 Report Posted August 7, 2010 Come on Scott, we proved empirically that scotch is the breakfast of champions.
manaox2 Posted August 7, 2010 Report Posted August 7, 2010 Come on Scott, we proved empirically that scotch is the breakfast of champions. Scotch was evidenced to give people super powers. You will be able to hear deeper into the mix then ever before. DAC makers will line up to give you discounts on their Dacsies and email addresses. The experiment was a total success, but a warning, we have also learned that its only weakness is the Edition 8. Your hearing pallete and sense of style will quickly be ruined from their blast.
charliex Posted August 8, 2010 Report Posted August 8, 2010 With my LCD-2s comin' in later this week I thought that I'd read all 26 pages of the thread to see what I am to expect - - and I have come away with the realization that once I have them I will need be watching a few good Texas Ranger episodes while calmly seated with KwKwarths nieces contemplating the merits of leather and BDSM headphones while sipping scotch with cream soda chasers and dining on lightly buttered toast. Hmmm.

And I think Ultrasones may be the main weakness of any serious audio enthusiast, the effects are just amplified through the super powers gained from the scotch. That is a shit sounding 'phone right there, can't imagine how the lower end ones sound. And why they made a $1500 supraaural portable is beyond me.
