GPH Posted April 12, 2010 Report Posted April 12, 2010 (edited) It's that time of the year again guys, now the real season begins. Make your picks! Edited April 28, 2010 by deepak
GPH Posted April 12, 2010 Author Report Posted April 12, 2010 That the Habs will at least extend the series to 5 games? Yes.
skullguise Posted April 12, 2010 Report Posted April 12, 2010 Interesting games in the East to end the regular season. Happy the Bruins got in (and that they didn't get Washington in round 1 - good luck to the Habs, they'll need it. Would love to see an upset). This could be an interesting set of match-ups, with lower seeds giving the higher seeds all they can handle. Also happy that Bruins are guaranteed a top 3 pick at the draft, and have a decent chance to land Taylor Hall. No matter what happens this year (and ANYTHING will be icing on the cake at this point, I'd say), looking forward to next year....
GPH Posted April 12, 2010 Author Report Posted April 12, 2010 Such confidence They qualified for the playoffs by gaining a point in an OT lose against the Leafs. Nuff said.
GPH Posted April 12, 2010 Author Report Posted April 12, 2010 With that said, I'm happy we're playing against Washington and not NJ, that would have been a massacre. The regular season games showed that the Habs can rival the Caps, and like they say, anything can happen in the playoffs. Go Habs go!
boomana Posted April 12, 2010 Report Posted April 12, 2010 Well, the Panthers are officially not in the playoffs again. I watched Tampa Bay beat them easily today. It's sad when the local sportcasters can't even say anything good. The Wings have been blech all year, so my teams aren't doing it, that's for sure.
grawk Posted April 12, 2010 Report Posted April 12, 2010 the wings are on a tear since everyone got healthy, you should enjoy the playoffs.
GPH Posted April 12, 2010 Author Report Posted April 12, 2010 Let's get the ball puck rolling: East Washington vs Montreal: Montreal in 4 (Washington in 6) New Jersey vs Philadelphia: New Jersey in 7 Buffalo vs Boston: Buffalo in 6 Pittsburgh vs Ottawa: Pittsburgh in 5 West San Jose vs Colorado: San Jose in 4 Chicago vs Nashville: Nashville in 7 Vancouver vs Los Angeles: Vancouver in 6 Phoenix vs Detroit: Detroit in 5
boomana Posted April 12, 2010 Report Posted April 12, 2010 the wings are on a tear since everyone got healthy, you should enjoy the playoffs. I'm not sure I'd call it a tear, but they damn sure wanted to be in the playoffs. If they can keep it up, things might get interesting, but they just don't seem to have the fire this year. They didn't even really have it consistently during the cup games. I'll remain hopeful, but....

tom_hankins Posted April 13, 2010 Report Posted April 13, 2010 Really looking forward to see if Detroit can keep up the level of play they have had since the Olympic break. I think they got points in 15 out of there last 16 games. Hard to count them out even with San Jose (if they dont choke again) and Chicago looking like the favorites in the west. In the East, as much as I hate Pittsburgh, until someone beats them (Go Caps!) its hard for me to pick against them.
GPH Posted April 15, 2010 Author Report Posted April 15, 2010 Apparently, Ovechkin knows what's the Caps weakest link and he tried to do the dirty job himself and get him injured today, but he failed. Theodore leaves the ice after being hit by Ovechkin shot
tom_hankins Posted April 15, 2010 Report Posted April 15, 2010 Well my playoff picking sucks as usual. I picked one out of four last night. (Flyers)
aardvark baguette Posted April 15, 2010 Report Posted April 15, 2010 Pleased as punch that pittsburgh lost
boomana Posted April 15, 2010 Report Posted April 15, 2010 Pleased as punch that pittsburgh lost Not so pleased with the Wings' PK.
tkam Posted April 15, 2010 Report Posted April 15, 2010 Pens won't be getting too far this year unfortunately they sorely miss Scuderi and Gill.
penger Posted April 15, 2010 Report Posted April 15, 2010 Not a huge hockey fan, but do support the local team. Go Sharks! I'm surprised some of you guys picked them to win a series this year. Last night's loss was tough, though I read that they got outplayed most of the game.

I always think San Jose will go far in the playoffs telling myself "this will be their year" and they continue to disappoint, not unlike the Sens. Great regular season teams, but they can't take the heat of the playoffs!
