Spychedelic Whale Posted April 1, 2010 Report Posted April 1, 2010 When I try to reproduce 24 bits 96Mhz files the sound just goes on and off and when I check the DacMagic the 96 Mhz mark Led is blinking, which normally stays fixed indicating the frequency is reproducing. This makes me wonder if the Dacmagic really supports this kind of files or its my computer.. I limited on the computer the frequency to 48mhz and plays just fine... Any guesses
grawk Posted April 1, 2010 Report Posted April 1, 2010 (edited) I'd guess that the dacmagic doesn't support 96khz (not mhz) over usb yup, per cambridge audio: Digital input word widths supported: 16-24bit (16 bit for USB) Digital input sampling frequencies supported: 32kHz, 44.1kHz, 48kHz, 88.2kHz, 96kHz (44.1kHz, 48kHz for USB) Edited April 1, 2010 by grawk
grawk Posted April 1, 2010 Report Posted April 1, 2010 then it's whatever you're outputing the optical with that's having the problem, or your cable is damaged.
GPH Posted April 1, 2010 Report Posted April 1, 2010 That must be one huge-ass file sampling at 96MHz! With that said, I'm sure there'd be a market for such an audiofool format.
