blessingx Posted March 24, 2010 Report Posted March 24, 2010 So how was The Unit? David Mamet's Master Class Memo to the Writers of The Unit | Movieline
episiarch Posted March 24, 2010 Report Posted March 24, 2010 As I was reading this memo aloud to my wife earlier this evening, I realized I was reading it in my Michael Westen Burn Notice voice-over exposition voice -- which is kind of an offense against the material of the memo. But, ya know, it worked. (Quite possibly the very mild irony of that will turn out to be amusing only to me. Oh well, I'm used to it.)
mypasswordis Posted March 24, 2010 Report Posted March 24, 2010 I have no idea what this is about, but WHAT'S, WITH, THE ALL-CAPS, AND EXTRA, COMMAS-AND-DASHES-AND-SHIT, GOD, DAMN?!?! And I also want to know 2) WHAT HAPPENS IF HER DON

It's a lot easier to read at the link from the top of Rick's post. Lots of extra BOLD to really drive the points home. Keeps the eyes moving along better.
Hopstretch Posted March 24, 2010 Report Posted March 24, 2010 Also relevant to this particular interest, as pointed out elsewhere. Kurt Vonnegut at the Blackboard - Lapham’s Quarterly

Keeps the eyes moving along better. That actually does help a bit, thanks. The Vonnegut article is good. My favorite graphs are of course the Kafka one, followed by the Shakespeare.
