MoonShine Posted May 11, 2010 Report Posted May 11, 2010 I have Star Walk on my iPhone. It's way cool, totally rocks.
blessingx Posted May 13, 2010 Author Report Posted May 13, 2010 http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/artstudio-for-ipad/id364017607?mt=8 ArtStudio is down to a buck. Supposely 80% off.
blessingx Posted May 13, 2010 Author Report Posted May 13, 2010 If anyone is using the Zinio app you can get a free copy of the new Absolute Audiophile magazine. Not nearly as flashy as Stereophile, etc. but it was worth free. And if you download Zinio now you get (or at least I did) the the current WATER National Geographic free. One of their best issues recently and a good test IMO for how magazines look on the iPad.
jvlgato Posted May 13, 2010 Report Posted May 13, 2010 iAnnotate: Allows one to 'write', highlight, take notes, and otherwise mark up in your own 'writing', onto a PDF file as you read it. Not sure I'll get this for myself, just yet, but thought some other heavy PDF users might find this useful (Monkey?). It looks pretty popular among lawyer/academic types. It's $6.99 introductory price. ************** Aji Annotate Also, check out our preview video on YouTube, for a quick tour of iAnnotate in action. iAnnotate is a PDF reading and annotation tool for the iPad. The Monkey Posted May 15, 2010 Report Posted May 15, 2010 ^Good call. I noticed it myself, and it could be very useful. Thanks for the reminder.
HeadphoneAddict Posted May 18, 2010 Report Posted May 18, 2010 Here is an interesting app - First Look: Avatron Air Display for iPad extends your Mac screen I have iDisplay which sucked and I removed it, but this one looks like it's working better.
recstar24 Posted May 19, 2010 Report Posted May 19, 2010 Readdledocs is pretty sick. I have owned the app for a minute and have already mapped on my desktop the iPad drive, transferred all my canjam docs to it, synced up with my gmail docs for the other canjam stuff, and am setting up my readdle storage account. Wow.
agile_one Posted May 19, 2010 Report Posted May 19, 2010 You work fast, Ryan. No iPad this morning, then iPad monster within minutes of getting one. Way to go.
recstar24 Posted May 19, 2010 Report Posted May 19, 2010 Yah. I already got the for score app and have already started scanning in the music I plan on performing for my fall concert:)
recstar24 Posted May 19, 2010 Report Posted May 19, 2010 Wait, what? They have an app for that? Forscore. It was recommended on the first page. You scan it to PDF on your computer, then through itunes just upload it directly into the app. My goal is to download all my music for the concert year, so instead of using a binder with torn pages, I can use the ipad for concerts and rehearsal.
Dusty Chalk Posted May 19, 2010 Report Posted May 19, 2010 Holy shit, that would rock. (And I haven't really been following this thread religiously -- was having a hard time seeing past it as a big spoon. Also, not in the budget.)
VPI Posted May 19, 2010 Report Posted May 19, 2010 The new Netflix update allows you to pass video through the VGA output so you can use it with your TV.
thrice Posted May 26, 2010 Report Posted May 26, 2010 Wired app now live in the app store. Big app at 527 MB
tyrion Posted May 26, 2010 Report Posted May 26, 2010 Air Video now allows you to connect the iPad to your tv and pass through to your tv.
The Monkey Posted May 27, 2010 Report Posted May 27, 2010 Can anyone recommend an EXCELLENT ToDo App that is not Things?
blubliss Posted May 27, 2010 Report Posted May 27, 2010 Anyone playing Godfinger, I need to make a friend. (:
VPI Posted May 27, 2010 Report Posted May 27, 2010 Just installed the new B&N eBooks app means I can buy books from all three sources on the iPad. Maybe that will start a price war.
HeadphoneAddict Posted May 28, 2010 Report Posted May 28, 2010 Just installed the new B&N eBooks app means I can buy books from all three sources on the iPad. Maybe that will start a price war. This stupid iPad program still doesn't sync the last read location with my iPhone app or the Nook. Why the hell did they add games and web to the nook before making it a better ebook reader?
thrice Posted May 28, 2010 Report Posted May 28, 2010 I liked Koi Pond for the iPhone, so this looks like even more Koi Pondy goodness: Koi Pond HD

recstar24 Posted June 2, 2010 Report Posted June 2, 2010 Can anyone recommend an EXCELLENT ToDo App that is not Things? There is an app called todo that I just downloaded based on layout and really good reviews. Looks real nice and easy on first impressions.
