shellylh Posted April 9, 2010 Report Posted April 9, 2010 (edited) That is odd, The app app says I don't have any updates. NM - I must have already updated, I have the latest version. Edited April 9, 2010 by shellylh
thrice Posted April 11, 2010 Report Posted April 11, 2010 Just got finished playing Plants vs. Zombies for the iPad for the first time. I will never get anything done again. Holy crap is it addictive.
grawk Posted April 13, 2010 Report Posted April 13, 2010 wormhole remote is a cool app, but it's not ready for prime time yet. I've been going back and forth with the developer
jvlgato Posted April 13, 2010 Report Posted April 13, 2010 Anyone have any experience with this? Wyse Technology - Wyse PocketCloud App for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad
VPI Posted April 14, 2010 Report Posted April 14, 2010 Has anyone tried the Things for iPad app? I have been putting notes/to do lists in Notes but this looks like it might work well in keeping me organized.

I have been putting notes/to do lists in Notes but this looks like it might work well in keeping me organized. The two big To Do/GTD apps are Things and Omnifocus. Both are great and feature rich. I've used Things on the Mac and iPhone and both are great. Ultimately I went with Omnifocus, because it's geared more toward personal project management. Having said that, Things scales well. It's a very unassuming app at first, but pretty powerful and flexible. It seems to me that it's the kind of app that's easy to use at any level. Omnifocus has a steeper learning curve, but it too has some killer features and capabilities. Quick review of Things (pre-iPad): Things: Task Management With Style | Mac.AppStorm
VPI Posted April 16, 2010 Report Posted April 16, 2010 Thanks for the review. I ended up getting Things and now I am trying to figure out how best to use it.
The Monkey Posted April 16, 2010 Report Posted April 16, 2010 I've found with Things, the best way to use it is to put in all the stuff you need to do on Day 1, keep up with it through Day 7, and then never use it again.
tyrion Posted April 20, 2010 Report Posted April 20, 2010 I just bought Penultimate for writing notes. You use your finger and write the note. You can save the notes and email them. It works pretty good.

It works pretty good. I picked that up last night as well. neat little app, not sure if I'll use it a lot, but it's fun to doodle some ideas out.
shellylh Posted April 21, 2010 Report Posted April 21, 2010 Thanks for the heads up about Penultimate Mike. Just downloaded it. What it really needs to be useful (for me) is color, different size erasers, ability to highlight and move things, and copy/paste. Guess I just want the ipad to have a digitizer and Windows Journal for Apple - I won't hold my breath.
shellylh Posted April 21, 2010 Report Posted April 21, 2010 I already have a Motion Computing LE1700 tablet pc. Don't know if I really want another Windows machine. If I could find an Illustrator alternative that I liked, I would be perfectly happy with that running Xournal on Linux. Just not too happy running Windows.
shellylh Posted April 21, 2010 Report Posted April 21, 2010 I'm running Window 7 on my tablet.... it is much better than XP or Vista.

I dont think theres anything similar to illustrator (in terms of usability) as far as I know
shellylh Posted April 21, 2010 Report Posted April 21, 2010 I may give Inkscape another chance at some point. I think it has potential. Edit: If you were speaking of ipad Illustrator-like apps, yeah, I don't think there are any.

blessingx Posted April 21, 2010 Author Report Posted April 21, 2010 (edited) LiveSketch HD looks kinda cool. Also not much of a review, but if you're looking for apps in the kitchen... humanflyz Posted April 22, 2010 Report Posted April 22, 2010 Has anyone used iAnnotate for the iPad? Most of my school readings are journal articles in PDF, and it would be great to annotate them.
VPI Posted April 24, 2010 Report Posted April 24, 2010 So lets see what you guys have. So far the games are my favorite but I have found some really great business tools as well.
shellylh Posted April 25, 2010 Report Posted April 25, 2010 Sadly, the closest thing I have to a game is "Crosswords."
VPI Posted April 25, 2010 Report Posted April 25, 2010 I had actually forgotten about screen grab on the iPhone. Already learning new things as I hope to discover new apps based on people's grabs.
