LFF Posted March 1, 2010 Report Posted March 1, 2010 My 2nd gen iTouch refuses to update. The key though is that it also will not hold a charge. Is there someone who is handy and can help me by installing a new battery on this thing for me?
episiarch Posted March 1, 2010 Report Posted March 1, 2010 I've seen this problem go away after the Touch or iPhone is completely powered down (hold top button until "Slide to power off" appears and then slide) and then rebooted. Have you tried that already?
LFF Posted March 1, 2010 Author Report Posted March 1, 2010 I've seen this problem go away after the Touch or iPhone is completely powered down (hold top button until "Slide to power off" appears and then slide) and then rebooted. Have you tried that already? Yeah. I have tried everything on the apple website and on youtube. No luck. Someone told me the key giveaway is that the battery will not hold a charge and thus needs to be replaced.
zippy2001 Posted March 1, 2010 Report Posted March 1, 2010 I've replaced the batteries on old iPods, but haven't done it on the iTouch. I know you can take it to places like Batteries Plus and they can also replace the battery for a small charge.
Torpedo Posted March 1, 2010 Report Posted March 1, 2010 This people offer the service for $19 plus your shipping cost
episiarch Posted March 1, 2010 Report Posted March 1, 2010 I second Torpedo's recommendation of ipodjuice.com. I haven't ever mailed them anything, but I bought their DIY battery replacement kit for my 4G iMod, and the kit was great, the instructions were great, and the battery is great.
