"PM me with offers." Double cunty. :palm: :palm:

I really don't get the "it's been modded but I'm not in a position to look to tell you what has been done" line. What, all of a sudden NoNoNoNoNoNo doesn't own a friggen screwdriver? Let's see if he reports my post.

Yep. That ad auction had cunt written all over it. Reminds me of test equipment sellers on epay that say they can't tell if something works as they have "no way of testing it". What business are they in?

Aw, NoNoNoNoNoNo's ad is gone, what'd I miss? I did see it for a moment last night though. I honestly thought he was on the road to improvement but it looks like he hasn't changed his douchebag ways. He also knows Filburt has been looking for a 2.7 for a long time..... :asshat:

No he hasn't. He doesn't want one modded though especially not by NoNoNoNoNoNo. He's looked at my friend's CTH which was built by NoNoNoNoNoNo... not the worst ever, but...

I'll find out if it was modded by NoNoNoNoNoNo and try to get more details for Filburt so that he doesn't have to talk to NoNoNoNoNoNo about it. If the price is reasonable and it hasn't been butchered it may be his best chance of getting one.

A person who accumulates gear with as much drive as NoNoNoNoNoNo (Numerous dacs, amps, diy projects, ortho dynamic headphones, other headphones) and then has money problems even after flipping numerous items for a good and significant profit doesn't have pitiable "financial issues." He has problems with money management and knowing how to live within his means. I don't doubt that he needs money, but the culprit is still greed. I mean I don't know for sure, but every interaction I've had with him substantiates this theory of mine... in my mind anyway. Others, including NoNoNoNoNoNo are of course welcome to vehemently disagree :)

And yes I think he's a delusional sociopath.

I will merely say that you are wrong in this instance. Saachi's situation is unrelated to anything audio and is the results of tragic life circumstance.

The 2.7 was modded but not by him and he is not clear what electonic mods have been made ( does not appear to have had the usual cap changes etc but some of the circuitry appears to have been bypassed ) I know this because it was to be mine. NoNoNoNoNoNo was going to do a direct trade for my transdac ( which has had the crap modded out of it ) I encouraged him to rather sell the 2.7 to raise funds at it has more street cred than my transdac. He also asked for my ( and Alex's) permission to sell the respective Stacker's.

I wish him all the best and hope that his current situation passes without leaving too many scars.

NoNoNoNoNoNo has not been greedy at all with casing up my SS eXStatA. It was mostly complete 2 months ago except for the Amati attenuator which is fried, and he wont let me send a final payment until it is done and ready to ship. I too wish him the best and wish people might cut him a little slack. (I also hope Marc can resurrect the attenuator soon, since I need the amp for our CO meet next month)

NoNoNoNoNoNo and dB could compare NoNoNoNoNoNo's other 2.7 to the suspiciously modded one to see how messed up it is. Who knows, maybe it sounds better than stock or even a properly modded one?

A pity to see this modded DAC have an ambiguous value... especially if the new owner doesn't have pride of ownership/ doesn't fully appreciate it for how awesomez it is.

Since these DACs require special DIY skills to solder on their tricky boards and Filburt is familiar with these boards and has the skills required, he might be able to do a lot of good with it.

One of the reasons that this particular 2.7 was not already in my grubby hands was that it sounded better to NoNoNoNoNoNo in some ways than his highly modded version. The bass was not as present but the realism with which the midrange was presented, was said to be pretty special. His intention had been to investigate the board when he had the time in order to better understand what had been done. Pity really , I would have been interested in this too. I never did get to do a head to head of my transdac and his 2.7 as I had done with the 2.6 playing redbook discs.

I think you may be unaware that Don has moved across the country from Portland, OR.
