thyssen Posted February 24, 2010 Report Posted February 24, 2010 (edited) i currently have UE Superfi 5 EB (extended bass) 's and i just got back from the UE place in Irvine where i tested out the demo models for the 10's,11's, and the new 18's and was kinda dissapointed. they're all lacking in the bass dept for the price tag that they have IMO . They said that after they're fitted to my ears, that they would have twice as much bass .. but i still think there should have been more on those universal demos compared to my year old universal 5 EB's. I'm thinking of checking out the new JH16's that are shipping next month but would like to hear some opinions on the JH13's from anyone who has had or tried them and may or may not have tried the UE's . I'm looking for A LOT MORE BASS than i already have .. the most i can get ..really. I just had a bad experience with Livewire Triples... after reading so many good reviews .. i had a pair made for me (twice actually) and the bass was totally non-existent so its hard to believe what i read online. If anyone can point me in the right direction (the bass-heavy direction) for iem's ..custom or universal .. i'd appreciate it. Edited February 25, 2010 by grawk
Deadneddz Posted February 24, 2010 Report Posted February 24, 2010 I don't really understand what price tag and bass quantity have in common, but dang, if the UE11 did not have enough bass for you, the JH13 is not going to cut it for you either...
HeadphoneAddict Posted February 24, 2010 Report Posted February 24, 2010 I don't really understand what price tag and bass quantity have in common, but dang, if the UE11 did not have enough bass for you, the JH13 is not going to cut it for you either... Actually, the UE11Pro demo at CanJam did not have as much bass as my fully fitted UE11Pro, which I suspect is just the way they sound when used with universal fit tips. He said they told him that after being fitted that "they would have twice as much bass", and I agree with that. The UE11Pro do have more bass than the JH13Pro or ES3X, being at or above the level of bass from the W3 with universal tips (W3 with UM56 tips actually tames their bass a little). I've not heard the Super.fi 5 EB so I can't comment on that. But I think the UE11Pro will probably be enough bass for him.
mypasswordis Posted February 24, 2010 Report Posted February 24, 2010 I'm pretty sure the EB has some insane bass hump, like +10dB, and he wants A LOT MORE BASS. So the solution is a high order low pass filter. No mids, no highs, no problem.
morphsci Posted February 24, 2010 Report Posted February 24, 2010 ^^^ Yeah, just darth the super fi eb and you should be good to go.

boomana Posted March 3, 2010 Report Posted March 3, 2010 We've been trolled. This is surely a parody thread. No one has taste that bad.
Duggeh Posted March 3, 2010 Report Posted March 3, 2010 I like Marmite and hate Islay scotch. There are many who would say I have taste bad enough.
