TruBrew Posted May 6, 2012 Report Posted May 6, 2012 Have you tried running it through Soundflower and AU lab?
johnwmclean Posted May 6, 2012 Report Posted May 6, 2012 (edited) Thanks for this, I want to try it. Haven't found a way yet to integrate (the vst filters) with iTunes or another free player for OS X, any idea? First put your VST files into your Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST Then install this VST/AU manager: http://www.kvraudio....anager_by_vstau The software is self explanatory, basically install all VST files. Edit: Neutrino will support VST for OS X http://neutrino.en.softonic.com/mac Runs limited features when expired, but still works fine for music playback. Edited May 6, 2012 by johnwmclean
johnwmclean Posted May 6, 2012 Report Posted May 6, 2012 Have you tried running it through Soundflower and AU lab? Thanks for this, I'm going to give this a crack as well.
TruBrew Posted May 6, 2012 Report Posted May 6, 2012 I used that setup to run apQualizr when I had the SR-507. I could not use those headphones without EQ. Haven't used it since I sold the 507, but maybe I will download TB Isone so I can see what it is about. I wouldn't mind having a simple cross feed for some of my music, but TB Isone looks like it may do more processing than I am looking for.
deepak Posted May 8, 2012 Report Posted May 8, 2012 Spent some quality time with my O2 Mk1s this evening. I've been listening to the O1 non-stop since I got the KGSS. O2s still don't suck
mikeymad Posted May 8, 2012 Report Posted May 8, 2012 I am an O2 owner and I approve of this statement.
n3rdling Posted May 8, 2012 Report Posted May 8, 2012 I haven't listened to my O2s in a while Gonna get them out this weekend!
Spychedelic Whale Posted May 8, 2012 Report Posted May 8, 2012 (edited) After almost a year getting dust on a corner waiting for the DIY finally got a 323s, now I get what's the fuss all about. The mk1 is indeed better than the Z3, do want need more KGSShv though Edited May 8, 2012 by Spychedelic Whale
Victor Chew Posted May 8, 2012 Report Posted May 8, 2012 do want need more KGSShv though Don't quite understand what you are saying.
Nebby Posted May 8, 2012 Report Posted May 8, 2012 I think he's trying to say he wants a KGSSHV Don't quite understand what you are saying.
padam Posted May 9, 2012 Report Posted May 9, 2012 (edited) I have to say the SR-X MkIII Pro is really a great sounding headphone (with SRM-717 and Lavry). Very balanced from top to bottom (bass is deep and tight), phenomenal timbre, great resoution and dynamics. Just a hint of sharpness in the midrange. Soundstage is not big but not cramped either. The headband might need a bit of extra padding but otherwise the comfort is better than what I remembered, having the NB version earlier (but with a different source) Tonally I prefer this to the SR-007 which imho has too much bass and treble and too coloured mids. Still no SR-009 though... Edited May 9, 2012 by padam
spritzer Posted May 10, 2012 Report Posted May 10, 2012 They are really something but the headband needs to be improved. I've been thinking about something like the LCD-2 approach, thin layer of memory foam to make them useable but can't find anything locally.
Spychedelic Whale Posted May 10, 2012 Report Posted May 10, 2012 (edited) What would be the best service to purchases from fujiavic, kuboten maybe ? Edited May 10, 2012 by Spychedelic Whale
TruBrew Posted May 16, 2012 Report Posted May 16, 2012 Someone has listed an SR-OMEGA on EBay for £5900. Is that seriously the going rate, because it feels crazy.
n3rdling Posted May 16, 2012 Report Posted May 16, 2012 No not even. That's just wiktor doing his thing.
Leonardo Drummond Posted May 16, 2012 Report Posted May 16, 2012 Is he the guy who had three HE90s a while ago?
ujamerstand Posted May 16, 2012 Report Posted May 16, 2012 He's the guy that's been selling high end electrostatic headphones at ridiculously high price.
johnwmclean Posted May 22, 2012 Report Posted May 22, 2012 (edited) I promised a few people some impressions of my new stat rig, a KGSSHV and O2 MK1, I recently sold my dynamic system (balanced β22 and LCD-2R2) to support my new venture. For a month or so I was left without any system whilst I was building my KGSSHV, my impressions are based on auditory memory of my dynamic rig, my source remains the same, a Buffalo32 DAC. So here goes… The treble on the stat system extends way further without every being harsh, when called on it’s as delicate and airy as anything I’ve heard. I can hear way into the recording venue, instruments are better defined with clearer attack. The LCD-2 in no way can keep up with the O2 in this regard, it just doesn’t have the top end detail the O2 possesses. The mids of the O2 are just excellent, again better detail than the LCD-2, although the LCD-2 does add some weight and meat behind instruments and voices - overall the sheer brilliance of the O2 gets my vote. Bass with the O2 is absolutely amazing, it hits hard with great weight and detail, to my surprise actually, as I thought the LCD-2 would be the clear winner with bass - if only for the most bass dependant genres the O2 is simply remarkable. Audiojunkie Posted May 22, 2012 Report Posted May 22, 2012 (edited) Did you ever consider the B22's stepped down treble and darker tone to not be an ideal match for the LCD-2s? At least that's what I found with the combination. Nice write up though. Edited May 22, 2012 by Audiojunkie
johnwmclean Posted May 22, 2012 Report Posted May 22, 2012 I’ve never considered the β22 shelved down or dark.
deepak Posted May 22, 2012 Report Posted May 22, 2012 I’ve never considered the β22 shelved down or dark. Same.
wink Posted May 22, 2012 Report Posted May 22, 2012 I considered John's B22 with both his and my HD800 the most crystal clear setup I have ever heard. It did not augment nor mute the treble peak of the HD800's. If there was a problem, it was with the phones, and not the amp.

Tachikoma Posted May 22, 2012 Report Posted May 22, 2012 Hay guise Even though its only being driven by a $10 ebay amp, dat soundstage... the highs are a little woolly at the moment but the bass and mids sound pretty good, I'll bring in an old receiver to supplement my amplification options tomorrow.
spritzer Posted May 22, 2012 Report Posted May 22, 2012 Looks like the cable curse holds true. Gotta love mad design moments coming back to haunt us.
