mwl168 Posted February 18, 2018 Report Posted February 18, 2018 (edited) A word of caution about the CMC 805-2.5F chassis-mount RCA sockets I recently bought and received from AliExpress (also widely available on eBay and other places). They don't work. I don't know if all these similarly-labelled RCA sockets are all made by the same manufacturer. The ones I received look well-made but are out of spec. The ones with red insert are way too loose and won't hold a tight connection and the ones with white insert are way too tight and need hercules force to insert (and good luck trying to unplug it afterwards). I bought 5 pairs and all of them have the same issue. It's a pity, they do appear well made with good quality materials otherwise. Hope others can chime in with their experience. jose Posted February 18, 2018 Report Posted February 18, 2018 It may seem silly, but I prefer the usual Neutrik rca´s: simple, robust and of good quality at an appropriate price.

I have some of those as well, from THL audio IIRC. I don't recall any issues with them, other than the ground being a bit of a pain in the ass to solder. I'll check mine, but I've had them a few years now. They do seem to be made pretty well; not as nice as the Cardas rhodium, but a lot more reasonably priced.
mwl168 Posted February 19, 2018 Report Posted February 19, 2018 @ Pars: I suspect the ones I got are poorly made copies of the ones you got from THL which is actually located in Taiwan. I guess the trick is which vendors can one trust to get the quality ones. @ Jose: I like Neutrik product very well and use them when I can. I this case it's just much less work to drill one hole per connector than 3. 1
justin Posted February 26, 2018 Report Posted February 26, 2018 Has anyone heard from Craig@Kuboten? I havent been able to get him to respond to emails for the past couple weeks
luvdunhill Posted March 6, 2018 Report Posted March 6, 2018 I could use help finding the up spec’ed / sorted / higher voltage LME49610 parts. I would like a decent number of these. Any sources?
Pars Posted March 6, 2018 Report Posted March 6, 2018 Is the +/-22V the one you're looking for? Partsconnexion seems to have some...
luvdunhill Posted March 6, 2018 Report Posted March 6, 2018 Is the +/-22V the one you're looking for? Partsconnexion seems to have some...Wow, $15/ea. I would prefer a third of that
Pars Posted March 6, 2018 Report Posted March 6, 2018 (edited) OK... https://www.electrokit.com/en/lme49610ts.49676 This place seems to have them (Sweden), at ~$5.70 each. Don't know what shipping will run. And this place: http://www.kynix.com/Detail/223389/LME49610.html EDIT: a couple of chinese sellers on ebay as well, but more than $5 apiece. A related item (according to ebay) had me laughing: CL-A03 PRO high with fever portable amp Edited March 6, 2018 by Pars
JoaMat Posted March 6, 2018 Report Posted March 6, 2018 Electrokit is my favorite supplier – a small and friendly company. Just takes my 15 minutes by car.

jose Posted March 17, 2018 Report Posted March 17, 2018 To replace the 2SA1968, which is the best option? The STN9360 or the KSA1156? *STN9630 is SMD (I have boards for adapt this to TO220). *KSA1156 The Pins are the opposite, you just have to rotate it.
jose Posted March 18, 2018 Report Posted March 18, 2018 Thanks Birgir but both are very difficult to find too. I´m working on my Megatron and checking the threadt I found references to STN9630 and KSA1156 but I would like to be secure.

Hi Jose: See my post in the Magatron thread - I used the KSA1156 (flipped around for the different pinout) based on advise from Kevin and it works fine. I believe STN9360 (not STN9630) should work as well. Edited March 23, 2018 by mwl168
jose Posted March 20, 2018 Report Posted March 20, 2018 Thanks Michael!!! I have inventory of bought devices but I prefer the KSA1156 too. It's more easily to fixed. I'm waiting for trafos Edit. I saw you answer
mypasswordis Posted April 13, 2018 Report Posted April 13, 2018 Anyone else recently experience a large drop off in quality for Seeedstudio PCBs? In my last order I have a few boards that have half broken off pads, the edge cuts are horrible and almost touching the traces, some of the drill holes don't line up, some of the vias aren't tented, etc.
Pars Posted April 13, 2018 Report Posted April 13, 2018 My last order from December 2017 was fine... 1
mypasswordis Posted April 13, 2018 Report Posted April 13, 2018 Getting kind of scared about ending up waiting another 10 days for more amateur hour. I was also considering getting some PCBs assembled with them, but maybe not so much anymore. Any suggestions for other board manufacturers?

dsavitsk Posted May 20, 2018 Report Posted May 20, 2018 Does anyone have a few Analog MAT03's or SSM2220's around they would like to share?
Craig Sawyers Posted May 20, 2018 Report Posted May 20, 2018 Shocking that these parts were obsoleted. The number of truly low-noise bipolars (or matched pairs) is shrinking. All for the convenience of the customer company. 1
