Pars Posted May 7, 2023 Report Posted May 7, 2023 Most of them don't seem to want to deal with small quantities, and if they do, the price is insane (~$500 for 1 piece, Toroid Inc.). I checked Bridgeport Magnetics, I think they aren't interested in 1-2 pieces. Others won't sell to individuals, only businesses. I'm guessing Plitron is in that boat as well, or would be insanely priced. Antek doesn't do custom, so it looks like I may wind up with 3 Antek transformers for this project. I think that is who Kevin is using as well, but I'll let him pipe up if he wants to. 1
dsavitsk Posted May 8, 2023 Report Posted May 8, 2023 https://sklep.toroidy.pl/en_US/index I've not used them so I don't know the quality, but it's another option. Also, they're expensive but I still like the lundahl power transformers, particularly for use close to a circuit. Just be aware of their weird way of stating specs. 1
jokerman777 Posted May 8, 2023 Report Posted May 8, 2023 Thanks for the info! Yes I used Toroid Inc once a few years back and I think it was very pricy for what I asked for - I think their one-off pricing is based on designing and making initial prototypes for businesses, which is understandable. I been using Antek whenever something off-the-shelf fits the need, unfortunately just not for a T2. Guess I will reach out to toroidy and mueller-rondo in EU for a quote then. Tricky part is I already got the chassis and I think Kevin designed them for the SumR ones originally where the diameter of each trafo can't really exceed 3.6", probably pretty marginal for their ratings and I'd need to spec that too, this might further reduce my options. (no lundahl, EI, C core etc..) btw I contacted Toroidy once for something else and I got the impression that they don't have 115V or dual primary winding trafos in stock in general.
MLA Posted May 8, 2023 Report Posted May 8, 2023 Toroidy will do whatever you need in my experience (including dual primary); anything T2 will be custom spec anyway. Mueller-Rondo lets you specify the exact diameter when you place an order, so that's quite helpful. The larger Mueller-Rondo (think 300VA) have a bit more mechnical hum than the corresponding Toroidy's (have built T2 psus with trafos from both). Not a dealbreaker if you're not sitting absolutely next to the psu box. Also, if you go with 3 trafos (I think that's what's in Kevin's original chassis?) I think if you spread the load none of them needs to be more than 150VA each, which should sort that problem.
Kerry Posted June 9, 2023 Report Posted June 9, 2023 I'm looking for suppliers of 6922 tubes for the T2 in the EU. Any suggestions?

audiostar Posted June 19, 2023 Report Posted June 19, 2023 Mouser has a couple of MJW21193G, grab them while they last.
audiostar Posted July 26, 2023 Report Posted July 26, 2023 Anyone knows of a metric panel bearing like this one from Keystone? Need it for a 6mm rod instead of 1/4". Small difference but enough for a 6mm rod to wobble in the Keystone 1705.

Craig Sawyers Posted July 27, 2023 Report Posted July 27, 2023 (edited) ONSemi. Abandon all hope for the next production batches. Mouser says "758 Expected 12-Dec-23", but that alas for the hated semiconductor supplier, can usually be taken with sizeable a pinch of salt. Farnell says 249 will be delivered to them on 26th Jan 24. RS says 21st Feb 24 See what I mean about pinch of salt? Stock, when ONSemi finally supply a few thousand will disappear pretty darned quick as manufacturers hoover up stock for their production. Manufactured in China, like just about every semiconductor I've bought in recent times. Edited July 27, 2023 by Craig Sawyers 2

Kerry Posted July 28, 2023 Report Posted July 28, 2023 I had some of these made up. PM me. They are a drop-in replacement for the Keystone part, but with a 6mm opening 1
bdinnev Posted August 2, 2023 Report Posted August 2, 2023 Can anyone help identify who makes this toggle switch? I need to source a replacement as this one is broken but am struggling to find a 6A / 3A 125/250vac model

MLA Posted August 2, 2023 Report Posted August 2, 2023 For me they ship to Sweden without problem. Don't know what you need to do to make international delivery happen though...
spritzer Posted August 2, 2023 Report Posted August 2, 2023 There should be an export site, that's what I've used in the past.

bdinnev Posted August 2, 2023 Report Posted August 2, 2023 (edited) That does not appear to be the same switch - the C&K is rated at 5A, not 6A, and the writing for the ON / ON is orientated differently. I have been able to find plenty of 5A rated switches, but no 6A. Edited August 2, 2023 by bdinnev
jokerman777 Posted August 8, 2023 Report Posted August 8, 2023 Found the rs export site here: https://export.rsdelivers.com/?fromAmericas=1 But when I enter US as the destination country they redirect me to the US site with "Due to local tax laws we request that you place your order with our US website". dk why this is so difficult in 2023 😃 btw I was told bdent is going to close down in Oct, so maybe last call for something. 3

Possibly if you want something in large quantity you can reach out and maybe get a discount over the listed price.
