penmarker Posted November 6, 2017 Report Posted November 6, 2017 Is it possible to replace MPSW with MPSA? Quote
Pars Posted November 6, 2017 Report Posted November 6, 2017 You need the MPSW for the outputs, which is 8 per board. The MPSA will work for the others. Do the SMD version. Quote
Pars Posted November 28, 2017 Report Posted November 28, 2017 JFETs... anyone look at ZVP3310 and ZVN3310 as possible J74/K170 replacements? Quote
Craig Sawyers Posted November 28, 2017 Report Posted November 28, 2017 They are MOSFET's, whereas J40/K170 are low noise JFET's. Why not just go for LSK74/LSJ170? Quote
Pars Posted November 28, 2017 Report Posted November 28, 2017 I had just run across them on diyaudio and hadn’t looked at them closely.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
Ariamella Posted December 5, 2017 Report Posted December 5, 2017 (edited) I was wondering about the transistors used on one of the older versions of the susy dynahi boards being obsolete, and after searching online I think I've found replacements for all of them that seem to be drop in. I'm just wondering if these are fine or if I need to find something else or try and source NOS or used parts. 2SA1358/2SC3421: KSA1220AYS/KSC2690AYS 2SA1145/2SC2705: MMBT5551/MMBT5401LT1G 2SA1349/2SC3381: matched pairs of KSA992/KSC1845 Matched pairs of 2SJ74/2SK170: matched pairs of LSJ689/LSK489 or LSK74/LSJ170 (both seem to be rare/expensive!!) kevin gilmore Posted December 5, 2017 Report Posted December 5, 2017 Mmbt are surface mount so no you have to check the pin outs for the rest Quote
Ariamella Posted December 5, 2017 Report Posted December 5, 2017 (edited) Do you have any other suggestions for 2SA1145/2SC2705 replacements? EDIT: Just checked the pin outs for everything else and they're a match! Edited December 5, 2017 by Ariamella Quote
justin Posted December 6, 2017 Report Posted December 6, 2017 (edited) 2sa1201 / 2sc2881 is what i use..you could probably stand them up in TO-92 holes just watch the power Edited December 6, 2017 by justin Quote

kevin gilmore Posted December 6, 2017 Report Posted December 6, 2017 even the ksa992/ksc1845, one of them is on backorder till February and i'm going to need them. Quote
PretentiousFood Posted December 6, 2017 Report Posted December 6, 2017 I think I have about 100 of each (ksa992/c1845) that I'll never use if anyone needs. Can check tonight. 1 Quote

PretentiousFood Posted December 6, 2017 Report Posted December 6, 2017 Mouser's finest! I'm not sure about the hfe grade as I can't find the receipt. The package says FCE. FCE is not an hfe grade, but E is the highest and sounds like something I would buy. Shoot me a PM if you'd like. Quote

This is the hFE chart on the datasheet of the KSA992 (and should be identical to the grading system on the KSC1845). @kevin gilmore, do the 2SA1145/2SC2705 on the ss dynahi boards I have need to be matched? Pars Posted December 7, 2017 Report Posted December 7, 2017 Matching never hurts... not sure that they need to be though.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote

ti5002000 Posted December 13, 2017 Report Posted December 13, 2017 Guys for the 100uf Electrolytic in the ss dynalo what would be the best capacitor to use in that position? Both in technical and musical terms combined?or doesn´t that matter at all? I saw some of us use nichicon ufg,ukz but i want to know if there are different opinions. Thanks Quote
Pars Posted December 13, 2017 Report Posted December 13, 2017 I personally like Panasonic... FM or FR. If you want to go semi foo foo, use Elma Silmic II.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
