Salt Peanuts Posted January 25, 2010 Report Posted January 25, 2010 Search wasn't working for me earlier, and then started working somewhat but was missing some known hits (that I could find using google externally). Same here. Also, I haven't been able to find the option to search for threads started by a particular user as opposed to posts.
Torpedo Posted January 25, 2010 Report Posted January 25, 2010 (edited) Much better this way Mike, I like it more, thanks. Now we just need to make the default type size in the quick reply box a bit larger. Edit: Any idea why my signature with the artcovers is much smaller than Reks' and what it was with the older VB version? Edited January 25, 2010 by Torpedo
Salt Peanuts Posted January 25, 2010 Report Posted January 25, 2010 (edited) maybe it scales down now due to it being longer? This. I just tested it out with my own sig and the image does scale depending on how many albums you put on it. EDIT - now they're all showing up in the same size, going beyond the forum border, in fact. tkam Posted January 25, 2010 Author Report Posted January 25, 2010 the scaling is controlled by an auto-resizing image plugin i have. it was initially set to limit sig images to 500 pixels wide, so i bumped it up to 1024. but if thats going beyond the forum border for some people i'll drop it back down to 800. though i am surprised anyone is still using a resolution as low as 1024 width.

I think it has more to do with a lot of folks not running HC in the full window while browsing. I know I run a partial window a lot of the time to allow for quick switching between different applications.
Salt Peanuts Posted January 25, 2010 Report Posted January 25, 2010 It's my crappy work computer/monitor - it can't go beyond 1024 width. EDIT - Also, am I the only one seeing some posts with lines shorter than the forum window (e.g., my post and Todd's post above)?
tkam Posted January 25, 2010 Author Report Posted January 25, 2010 i dropped the auto-sizing back down to 800 then.
grawk Posted January 25, 2010 Report Posted January 25, 2010 I run my browser at about 800 pixels wide.
grawk Posted January 25, 2010 Report Posted January 25, 2010 I gave the netbook to thomas, that's on my work laptop
The Monkey Posted January 25, 2010 Report Posted January 25, 2010 This is looking good! I agree that the line between the sig and the post content could be darker, but it looks like we're getting there. Well done.
n_maher Posted January 25, 2010 Report Posted January 25, 2010 Yes, that is excellent. One more minor request - when viewing stuff like the "recent posts" option there isn't much differentiation between the thread and poster information. It'd be sweet if either by color or some other signifier the two things could be more easily delineated. Oddly, on my phone the poster info shows up larger than the thread title, one more reason to buy tapatalk I guess.
n_maher Posted January 25, 2010 Report Posted January 25, 2010 Lots of forum search functions seem broke. Example #1 - if I click on a user and hit find posts it seems to find a random selection of posts by that user, but doesn't provide any preview of the posts (just titles) and also doesn't find very many posts. Example #2 - if I click on the # of posts in a thread it still brings up the list of who has posted how many times but if I click a number, which previously would have displayed a list of posts by that user in a particular thread, it just again shows a random list of posts by that user in all sorts of different threads and doesn't appear to even be chronological.
John E Woven Posted January 25, 2010 Report Posted January 25, 2010 Is there a way to minimize the "What's going on?" on the main page ? Seems like every other section has the little button on the upper right which lets you minimize. Also, the "Show site leaders" on the mainpage only shows admins and not moderators and super moderators.
Torpedo Posted January 25, 2010 Report Posted January 25, 2010 With the script resizing the covers now are visible. I'll change the number of covers so they can be a bit larger. BTW, why some posts have long lines and others cut lines at about 70-75 characters?
The Monkey Posted January 26, 2010 Report Posted January 26, 2010 Test. EDIT: Are people having trouble with colors in their sigs? EDIT EDIT: Because I am.
n_maher Posted January 26, 2010 Report Posted January 26, 2010 Test. EDIT: Are people having trouble with colors in their sigs? EDIT EDIT: Because I am. Yeah, I think the color buttons are broke but colors are still working, see my sig for proof (I think). [edit]Or maybe it's just for some folks? Test of red text using button. Test of Orange.
boomana Posted January 26, 2010 Report Posted January 26, 2010 Test. EDIT: Are people having trouble with colors in their sigs? EDIT EDIT: Because I am. I couldn't change my color. Maybe Nate's special.
Grahame Posted January 26, 2010 Report Posted January 26, 2010 A request for a larger http://www.head-case.org/forums/images/buttons/firstnew.png Currently its 12x12 24x24 would be nice! (hint)

Dusty Chalk Posted January 26, 2010 Report Posted January 26, 2010 What the fuck do you need colors for? Black is just fine. For some reason I am in the mood for sherbert. Is it just me, or is this snappy as all? I mean like an order of magnitude faster than before?
