The Monkey Posted January 11, 2010 Report Posted January 11, 2010 (edited) I'm looking for a good all-around decanter for general use with wine. Not in the mood for anything huge or stupidly-shaped. Any suggestions? EDIT: So far, I'm a pretty big fan of the Riedel "O" after using it a couple of times at my parents' place. Edited January 11, 2010 by The Monkey
blessingx Posted January 11, 2010 Report Posted January 11, 2010 I like the various duck decanters for goofy looks... ... but to be honest, neither of my pretty conventional decanters has seen much use since I shifted over to the Vinturi Wine Aerator. Decantus model looks decent too. Gets one to the 'liqueur' quicker. Course you can always use aerators with decanters for double the fun.
shellylh Posted January 11, 2010 Report Posted January 11, 2010 I got one of the Vinturi Wine Aerators for Christmas and it is great (although true wine snobs may laugh at the idea and of course, isn't a true decanter).

The Monkey Posted January 11, 2010 Author Report Posted January 11, 2010 Thanks for the suggestions so far. I will check them out. The aerator is interesting, but I'm looking more for the purpose of dealing with sediment. So something that is easy to pour into with good visibility at the neck are probably the two main criteria.
