Spiug31 Posted December 31, 2009 Report Posted December 31, 2009 A happy New year to you all when it comes
aardvark baguette Posted December 31, 2009 Report Posted December 31, 2009 I dont like what people are calling the last decade (aughts), and the lack of consensus about what to call the next one.
Beefy Posted December 31, 2009 Report Posted December 31, 2009 Happy New Year! I'm so tired, I'll be lucky to make it to midnight......
spritzer Posted December 31, 2009 Report Posted December 31, 2009 Happy new year everybody!! About 30 minutes left to go here and the sky is already lit up and will stay so until well past 1am.
Salt Peanuts Posted January 1, 2010 Report Posted January 1, 2010 I dont like what people are calling the last decade (aughts), and the lack of consensus about what to call the next one. I just don't like hearing about this 'last decade' when the decade in question doesn't actually end for another year. I don't know why it bothers me, it just does. Predictably, I had similar experience at the end of year 2000. In any case, happy new year to all.

Spiug31 Posted January 1, 2010 Author Report Posted January 1, 2010 it's just whether you assign zero or one when counting. starting at zero makes as much sense to me but recalling passage of events is really up to the memory of each individual and of course counting from zero can be just as arbitrary as counting from 1. IMO there is far more going on than I can list, therefor recollection is cherry picking at best
zippy2001 Posted January 1, 2010 Report Posted January 1, 2010 Happy New Year Everyone! Still another 3 hours for us on the West Coast
cegras Posted January 1, 2010 Report Posted January 1, 2010 It's already been a decade? Cheers to the beginning of another one.
mypasswordis Posted January 1, 2010 Report Posted January 1, 2010 Yeah happy 2010 and shit. x2 The correct way to say it is "Happy New Year's" because New Year's Day is the holiday being celebrated, as opposed to the whole year.
nattonrice Posted January 1, 2010 Report Posted January 1, 2010 Happy New Year! Sydney was crazy packed this year... even more than 09 which is pretty impressive.
Wmcmanus Posted January 1, 2010 Report Posted January 1, 2010 This year I resolve to quit writing 1974 on my checks. If I can get through the first couple of weeks of January, I should be alright.
Beefy Posted January 1, 2010 Report Posted January 1, 2010 Happy New Year and Happy New Decade. Nuh-uh!
