Mister X Posted September 13, 2006 Report Posted September 13, 2006 Call me indecisive but I cannot pick just one so..... If you were asked what your 5 favorite albums are what would you say?
Dusty Chalk Posted September 14, 2006 Report Posted September 14, 2006 1. Tie -- Animals and Wish You Were Here 3, 4, & 5. Not sure of order -- Romantic Warrior (Return to Forever); Koyaanisqatsi (Glass); Misplaced Childhood (Marillion) That's today -- tomorrow, things could easily change. There's Tales from Topographic Oceans, Safety in Numbers (Crack the Sky), Just for a Day (Slowdive -- but this one is beginning to wear on me, so I'm thinking the honeymoon is finally over -- after over 14 years, though), Remain in Light (don't like "Once in a Lifetime", but love the rest of the album so much, it doesn't matter), Darkest Days (Stabbing Westward), The Mess We Made (Matt Elliott), both of Garbage's first two albums, Kraftwerk's Computer World, The Last Man to Fly (Tear Garden)...I could go on and on and on. Oh, and you're indecisive.
Mister X Posted September 14, 2006 Author Report Posted September 14, 2006 Oh, and you're indecisive. You know what's worse? It took me this long to pick five. In no particular order: Tool, Lateralus. The Allen Parsons Project, I Robot Pink Floyd, Animals Dave Matthews Band, Crash A Perfect Circle, Thirteenth Step But I am still on the fence about that one because Judas Priest Rocka Rolla and Black Sabbath Mob Rules both get more play time these days.
Thaddy Posted September 14, 2006 Report Posted September 14, 2006 Tool - Lateralus Tool - 10,000 Days Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon/Animals (it's a tie) Rush - R30 (ok, so it's a concert, but still an album) Porcupine Tree - Warszawa Plus there's always... Nirvana - Unplugged in New York Dave Matthews Band - Crash The Mars Volta - Frances the Mute Metallica - The Black Album Rage Against the Machine - Evil Empire Green Day - Dookie Pearl Jam - Ten MisterX, have I mentioned you've got a great taste in music?
grawk Posted September 14, 2006 Report Posted September 14, 2006 Call me indecisive but I cannot pick just one so..... If you were asked what your 5 favorite albums are what would you say? Flaming Lips - In A Priest Driven Ambulance Gov't Mule - Live With a Little Help From Our Friends Grateful Dead - Wake of the Flood X - Los Angeles / Wild Gift Primus - Rhinoplasty but I don't really listen to albums, I put my library on random
Dusty Chalk Posted September 14, 2006 Report Posted September 14, 2006 You know what's worse? It took me this long to pick five. The only reason it didn't take me that long is because I cheated. The Allen Parsons Project, I RobotActually, that would be the Alan Parsons Project, and that's a really great album. If you don't have the DAD from Classic Records (I think it's a DVD-A now), get it. It's imperative.....Judas Priest Rocka Rolla and Black Sabbath Mob Rules It's funny that you should mention those two albums, because my favourite albums from those two are Sad Wings of Destiny and Heaven & Hell (well, one of my favourites from them, anyway -- Technical Ecstasy being another).
PsychoZX Posted September 14, 2006 Report Posted September 14, 2006 In no paticular order: Pink Floyd - The Wall Tool - Lateralus Radiohead - Kid A Miles Davis - Kind of Blue A Perfect Circle - Thirteenth Step
Iron_Dreamer Posted September 14, 2006 Report Posted September 14, 2006 My choices: Hans Zimmer - Gladiator (score) Rage - Ghosts Dream Theater - Scenes from a Memory Virgin Steele - Invictus Iron Maiden - Somewhere in Time
philodox Posted September 14, 2006 Report Posted September 14, 2006 This is really too hard, but if I had to it would be as follows: Massive Attack - Blue Lines DJ Spooky - Dubtometry Tori Amos - From the Choirgirl Hotel Iron & Wine - Our Endless Numbered Days Ulrich Schnauss - A Strangely Isolated Place
xand1x Posted September 14, 2006 Report Posted September 14, 2006 Opeth - Damnation Miles Davis - Kind of Blue Jay-Z - Reasonable Doubt Our Lady Peace - Spiritual Machines 2pac - Me Against the World
KenW Posted September 14, 2006 Report Posted September 14, 2006 Hmmm....5? That's tough. I'd say: Tool-Lateralus SRV-Couldn't Stand the Weather Beatles-Abbey Road Santana-Abraxas Marvin Gaye-Best Of
thrice Posted September 15, 2006 Report Posted September 15, 2006 Whew top 5 huh: In no particular order: Marvin Gaye, What's Goin' On? Ani DiFranco, Little Plastic Castle Gary Peacock and Ralph Towner, A Closer View The Cure, Disintegration or the Head on the Door. Uh...jesus i don't know...I guess the Gretchen Parlato CD I've been into lately would make the list, but I don't know if that's permanent. I've been getting into so many new things lately, it's hard to pick favorites anymore. I had no idea that Lateralus was so popular...I might have to pull it out and listen some more.
