Grahame Posted December 18, 2009 Report Posted December 18, 2009 This cable has great tonal balance, outstanding depth and sounds way better than stock or higher-grade USB cables Music Lovers - News - Transparent Audio Introduces High-Performance USB Cable - San Francisco Home Theater, High End Audio & Video, Custom Installations, HiFi, Stereos As a bonus this over priced piece of high end audio nonsense comes complete with the requisite glowing recommendation from Art Dudley, one of the high end gods, on pages 43 & 45 of the January 2010 edition of "Stereophile". Unfortunately hip waders are NOT included.
HeadphoneAddict Posted December 18, 2009 Report Posted December 18, 2009 Hmmm. I also didn't hear any improvement with a $180 Locust cryo USB cable and the one that came with my Pico DAC-only. Maybe it wasn't good enough. Nah...
Nebby Posted December 19, 2009 Report Posted December 19, 2009 Hmmm. I also didn't hear any improvement with a $180 Locust cryo USB cable and the one that came with my Pico DAC-only. Maybe it wasn't good enough. Nah... Perhaps you were lucky that the out of spec cryo cable managed to match the tonal quality and depth of your properly spec'd pico usb cable? While googling the cryo usb cable I came across this picture:
Grahame Posted December 19, 2009 Author Report Posted December 19, 2009 Wow! Product: audiodharma Review: The audiodharma CABLE COOKER Pro Version 2.5 Review By Wayne Donnelly Suckered... AudiogoN ForSale: Audiodharma Cable Cooker I am only selling my Cooker as I have recently acquired all my dream cables, cooked them, and accordingly don't have much of a need for the Cooker in the future. I sense a market opportunity for a USB Cable Coooker!
Liu Posted December 19, 2009 Report Posted December 19, 2009 The Internet is full of the coolest shit

Nebby Posted December 19, 2009 Report Posted December 19, 2009 Yup, only $789 for the Standard Plus version and $879 for the Pro version!
darthsilverice Posted December 19, 2009 Report Posted December 19, 2009 ^ at that price, its time to stock up and resell for profit!
Pars Posted December 23, 2009 Report Posted December 23, 2009 Wouldn't a standard wall outlet work as well?
agile_one Posted December 23, 2009 Report Posted December 23, 2009 I'm sure with some voodoo chants, a few dead chickens, incense, and big bucks to the consumer that the cable cooker could be modded for usb cooking use. In the meantime, for your amusement, here is Tuberoller's 2004 review on HF.
Voltron Posted December 23, 2009 Report Posted December 23, 2009 Fred was overcooked when he wrote that.
thrice Posted December 23, 2009 Report Posted December 23, 2009 On a completely unrelated note, my newborn daughter will be offering a cable-cooking service via Rockhopper soon. We even got her a cable cooker for Christmas:
thrice Posted December 23, 2009 Report Posted December 23, 2009 One pack of Huggies "Little Snugglers" diapers.
Salt Peanuts Posted December 23, 2009 Report Posted December 23, 2009 I'm just surprised that no one over on HF has started a cable burn-in business with the cable cooker.
Voltron Posted December 23, 2009 Report Posted December 23, 2009 One pack of Huggies "Little Snugglers" diapers. Really too bad truth in advertising laws don't require those to be called "Turd Smugglers" or similar.
Ben Gramain Posted June 2, 2010 Report Posted June 2, 2010 Really too bad truth in advertising laws don't require those to be called "Turd Smugglers" or similar. Just stumbling along this thread but oh holy effin' jeezus this morning i accidentally opened my neighbour's trashcan by mistake prior to wheeling them out... the horror. Why doesn't she seal her trash bags, and why she rarely puts out the trash unless I do it for her is a mystery. I wasn't fully awake but that woke me up in a hurry.
luvdunhill Posted July 25, 2012 Report Posted July 25, 2012 Looks like cable fetish is getting close to my professional line of work: http://gizmodo.com/5928934/is-there-anyone-stupid-enough-to-believe-that-this-cable-has-anti+virus-protection?utm_campaign=socialflow_gizmodo_facebook&utm_source=gizmodo_facebook&utm_medium=socialflow
jwzhan Posted July 25, 2012 Report Posted July 25, 2012 Hey, people might need this cable to perform time-warp, and "anti-virus protection" is a neccesity, because they obviously don't want to end up in the wrong time due to virus infections. Hell, burn-in cable will provide higher precision, and because this is such a specialized cable, the normal cable cookers are not up for the task. It's time for someone to come up with a specialized cable cooker just for these anti-virus cables!
Nebby Posted July 25, 2012 Report Posted July 25, 2012 I wonder if some weird auto-correct switched out AV for Anti-virus and video for virus? "...Cable with AV protection to reduce video noises and to optain perfect image transmission." sounds fairly plausible...maybe.
Augsburger Posted July 26, 2012 Report Posted July 26, 2012 Or bad language translating software employed by a cheap/incompetent advertising company.
