atothex Posted November 26, 2009 Report Posted November 26, 2009 ^^^Yeah, that one looks pretty fucking comfortable.
HeadphoneAddict Posted November 26, 2009 Report Posted November 26, 2009 TantraChair or GTFO. Decorative nailheads! (Not enormously SFW, duh, but just look how much they're enjoying that Blue Note reissue!) Try clicking on the photos. matt fury Posted December 4, 2009 Report Posted December 4, 2009 Aimless, how do you like the Ekornes? I've been looking to pick up a used/vintage one for a bit to accompany/replace my iJoy, but I haven't actually sat in one.
Aimless1 Posted December 5, 2009 Report Posted December 5, 2009 The most comfortable chairs in my home. They are the chairs everyone who visits wants to sit in, and they never give them up. The tension adjustment can be a problem area (easy to repair). Leather quality could be better but they have held up remarkably well. The real question is would buy them again? Yep.
mypasswordis Posted December 5, 2009 Report Posted December 5, 2009 This is pretty much my audiophile chair, and my bed, all in one (okay okay, there's also a rug): Nice SR-007 Mk2 Aimless, proof black on black does look good.
terriblepaulz Posted December 5, 2009 Report Posted December 5, 2009 I love my Aeron. At the time I purchased, I was seriously considering a Leap, but the deal I got on my Aeron was too good. Their 12 year warranty is for real - when I needed a replacement seat, I received one, via FedEx, within 24 hours of making the call.
Aimless1 Posted December 5, 2009 Report Posted December 5, 2009 Nice SR-007 Mk2 Aimless, proof black on black does look good. Something worthy to aspire to.
guzziguy Posted December 5, 2009 Report Posted December 5, 2009 I'm waiting for CostCo to get La-Z-Boys back in. Then that will have to suffice.
swt61 Posted December 6, 2009 Report Posted December 6, 2009 I sit on a single wooden dowel, to avoid as much reflection as is possible. Of coarse it's Walnut (Fir or Poplar just won't do for Dr. Wood). I like to round over the top end for ease of entry, and a poly finish is a must for cleanliness. As a warning, we've all heard of port chuffing... well this may cause some port chafing.
Peabody Posted December 6, 2009 Report Posted December 6, 2009 I sit on a single wooden dowel, to avoid as much reflection as is possible. As a warning, we've all heard of port chuffing... well this may cause some port chafing. Well that is just simply disturbing. Really. Walnut? Not nearly dense enough. Maple, possibly. But certainly not walnut. Besides, both walnut and cherry for that matter will add their unique colorations to the sound. And I do hope that we migrate this discussion back to the aeron chair.....a much less disturbing picture. Though I do usually sit in a copy of the less expensive herman miller chair mentioned earlier - the Ergon3 not as comfortable as the Stressless Recliner that I would like to afford, but a pretty good desk chair, especially for the price.
Dusty Chalk Posted December 6, 2009 Report Posted December 6, 2009 So Steve -- when are you coming out? I mean, I think everyone already knows, and they're giving you about a hard a time as you're going to get, so what are you afraid of man? NTTAWT &c.

Aimless1 Posted December 13, 2009 Report Posted December 13, 2009 oops...think this is my first double post here.
Aimless1 Posted December 13, 2009 Report Posted December 13, 2009 I wish. Just to be sure, check my wallet, nope, not happening. Even on the used market they seldom go for less than 50% of retail unless they are beat up.
kevin gilmore Posted December 13, 2009 Report Posted December 13, 2009 I've had an ekornes for about 20 years. Love it a lot. Every 6 months i have to get out the tool kit and tighten up the main hexhead bolts that hold the thing together. Every time you rock it back and forth, the bolts come loose a bit. If they come out all the way, you need another person to hold it place otherwise you can't force it back together. Leather finally wearing a bit after 20 years.
Raez Posted December 14, 2009 Report Posted December 14, 2009 Unfortunately nothing more than a normal desk chair for me. One day...

dimitris Posted April 28, 2010 Report Posted April 28, 2010 I use a classic Ikea Poang chair or my Ektorp sofa.
Beefy Posted April 28, 2010 Report Posted April 28, 2010 I use a classic Ikea Poang chair or my Ektorp sofa. I miss my Poang. No bloody Ikea is stupid little Halifax
wgb113 Posted April 28, 2010 Report Posted April 28, 2010 I'm using a Poang now but once my room is dedicated to music listening I'll be moving in the Ekornes Orion Stressless in Classic Desert/Wenge. Bill
Hens Posted June 2, 2010 Report Posted June 2, 2010 haha, that i-fi chair looks ridiculous. I dream of an eames, but I suppose I will make do with a poang
TruBrew Posted February 5, 2012 Report Posted February 5, 2012 I know this thread is old, but that wont stop me from bragging about my new chair. Unfortunately it is not a Herman Miller or Vitra. If it was I would own a nice chair but no audio equipment to use while I sit in it. It is still nice however. I will replace it in maybe 5 years with a real one. Hopefully by then I will have graduated and have a job. I was about to say a real job, but I currently don't work. Any job would be an improvement to my financial status.
Spychedelic Whale Posted February 5, 2012 Report Posted February 5, 2012 What chair is that and how much was it? I'm looking for a comfortable chair that I can use on the PC and relax like that.
