Vodka Posted December 11, 2009 Report Posted December 11, 2009 I might be speaking out my ass but if your kid grows up with classical music, he/she might get too used to it/sick of it and then eventually get into the bad modern music. It's kinda like how I grew up with the mainstream stupid pop in the 90s and hated music until I bothered to discover "real" music. Quote
mypasswordis Posted December 11, 2009 Report Posted December 11, 2009 No, because classical music isn't mainstream (anymore) or stupid. 'Real' music is real to whoever perceives it as being real and worth listening to, irrespective of the technical "validity." That said, it takes a shitload more brainpower and effort to put together a Mahler symphony than a standard pop song chord progression of Is and Vs with some IVs thrown in and a step modulation in the recap. I still practice the sports I used to practice when I was younger, and I do still listen to a lot of symphonic music even though I was always surrounded by it (my mom is a professional violinist). manaox2 Posted December 11, 2009 Report Posted December 11, 2009 It may be the opposite, it could be that Elephas grew up to be this way because he was denied pop music as an infant. Quote
