dsavitsk Posted June 17, 2010 Report Posted June 17, 2010 Great pictures, Grahame. And no, it's not a cow, then the joke'd be lost. It's a cow. They're all over. cows in chicago - Google Search Great pics! That FLW house looks especially inspiring. It's the Robie House, I think. Right on the edge of the U. of Chicago campus. Robie House - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Grahame Posted June 17, 2010 Report Posted June 17, 2010 Thanks for all the kind words. @Voltron: Yeah, maybe because Peter had taken all the good shots at CJ. @Ausburger: It is the Robie House, and we got to see inside as well, so more of FLW details. @agile_one: We had a fun time playing tourists. Lou Mitchell's - great breakfasts indeed. Mind you, the lemon ricotta blueberry pancakes with pecan butter at the Bongo Room, South Loop weren't too shabby, either (Chicago Foodies: Bongo Room) Just saw the ladies enjoying themselves on the bronze bull, and then later in the week everyone suddenly seemed to become a redhawks fan (and proud of it) for some reason that escapes me
Voltron Posted June 17, 2010 Report Posted June 17, 2010 Psst, Grahame, they're called the Blackhawks. It's an American thing.
Grahame Posted June 17, 2010 Report Posted June 17, 2010 Blackhawks, Redwings, good job no one cares about grown men fighting over Slovak rubber on frozen water
tyrion Posted June 17, 2010 Report Posted June 17, 2010 (edited) Love the Bongo Room. Edit: forgot the most important part of my post, great pics Grahame. Edited June 17, 2010 by tyrion
recstar24 Posted June 17, 2010 Report Posted June 17, 2010 I saw some ginos east in there as well. Great pics, and am glad you had some fun
Dusty Chalk Posted June 17, 2010 Report Posted June 17, 2010 Just saw the ladies enjoying themselves on the bronze bull...Cow. But I like your wording better, of course.
Augsburger Posted June 18, 2010 Report Posted June 18, 2010 "They" can't say anything, they can't speak, unless of course you have had a lot of whisky or whiskey or magic mushrooms............
mypasswordis Posted June 18, 2010 Report Posted June 18, 2010 I'm a city slicker. Is this before or after you've had to herd a bunch of cattle in the wilderness while encountering various life-threatening situations?
boomana Posted June 18, 2010 Report Posted June 18, 2010 Like everyone has said, great pictures, Grahame.
Augsburger Posted June 18, 2010 Report Posted June 18, 2010 Bought some Puma Cola based on Vickies CJ post.
swt61 Posted June 19, 2010 Report Posted June 19, 2010 i finally figured out why i took to manaox2 immediately: he's just like tori belleci from Mythbusters. But maybe less accident prone.
boomana Posted June 19, 2010 Report Posted June 19, 2010 Bought some Puma Cola based on Vickies CJ post. As did I Their root beer is supposedly better than their cola, so I got a twelve pack: 4 root beer, 4 cola, 2 ginger ale, and 2 cream soda. The shipping ended up more than the soda, but it came out to be $2.50 per bottle, which isn't bad since I don't drink soda much at all. I just ordered from the company: https://www.sprecherbrewery.com/index.php The only two places in Florida that sell it are the Mellow Mushroom in Tampa, and the Cock and Bull Pub in Sarasota, where we've had one of the best post-meet (or was it pre-met) parties I can recall.
HeadphoneAddict Posted June 19, 2010 Report Posted June 19, 2010 Actually, it was a clean sweep of the custom IEMs by HC'ers. I won the ES5s just before Colin won the JH-16s. Now Shelly and I will be twins. Awesome! I listed to the Westone ES5s today and they were very good. i also like them I had a demo of the ES5 last week, and it looks like I'll be getting a pair too. The soundstage was better with more out of the head soundstage but still good imaging rather than being diffuse or anything; and I thought they sounded very well balanced in their frequency response. I also read a review of them today: Westone Elite Series ES5 Custom In-Ear Monitors

Big fan of Sprecher. My wife grew up in the Milwaukee area, so she tipped me off. Very nice root beer, esp on tap, which some places around here have. They have some pretty nice beers, too, but not as good as the other beers you all sampled here.
manaox2 Posted June 19, 2010 Report Posted June 19, 2010 But maybe less accident prone. I'm a proud member of team injured amps. Funny, this isn't the first time someone mentioned me looking a lot like Tori.
manaox2 Posted June 20, 2010 Report Posted June 20, 2010 it's not just a resemblance thing, you talk and act like him too. I can see that as well. I think hes turning/turned 40 too, kind of surprised.
Iron_Dreamer Posted June 20, 2010 Report Posted June 20, 2010 But Grahame, the real question is, did you take Joanne back to Hot Doug's before you two left town?
Grahame Posted June 20, 2010 Report Posted June 20, 2010 Waiting isn't Joanne's thing, and after a week in Chicago I was told I didn't need any more duck fat fries The Chicken Crack helped though
