Grahame Posted December 1, 2011 Report Posted December 1, 2011 (edited) I thought that was a bowl of melted chocolate. Hmm, Chocolate Covered Chicken Fried Bacon ...... Now there's a thought Also G you gotta get into baking your bacon buddy. Frying just never gets it done. Chicken fried (Note the use of "fried" in the name ) , or just bacon in general?. Explain, pls thx. Edited December 1, 2011 by Grahame
NightWoundsTime Posted December 1, 2011 Report Posted December 1, 2011 Missed the "for science" bit and that it was chicken fried. I just despise plain old fried bacon. I tip my hat to your awesomeness.
mikeymad Posted December 2, 2011 Report Posted December 2, 2011 way my dad would look when he would come into my room.... (always knock)...
Edwood Posted December 7, 2011 Report Posted December 7, 2011 I "bake" bacon all the time in my grill in a cast iron deep dish pizza pan. Now I use the term "bake" loosely, as it's pretty much deep frying in it's own rendered lard. Mmmmmmm.
RudeWolf Posted December 13, 2011 Report Posted December 13, 2011 Still a week until I get to some nice bacon. I like Iceland but I really hate the food that is sold here at the supermarket.
mikeymad Posted December 31, 2011 Report Posted December 31, 2011 because of Grahame... New years eve Bacon
guzziguy Posted January 2, 2012 Report Posted January 2, 2012 Maybe we should rename this thread to "Ode to Bacon".
shellylh Posted January 13, 2012 Report Posted January 13, 2012 Never saw a dog asleep with bacon nearby, he must have had a lot of bacon!
Craig Sawyers Posted January 14, 2012 Report Posted January 14, 2012 You heard the latest food scare? There has been a cohort study by a group in Scandanavia which shows that if you eat two rashers of bacon or a sausage each day, your risk of pancreas cancer increases (wait for it) by 19%. Sheesh - it had been a factor of three or something, it might have been worth thinking about - but 19% Link: http://www.guardian.co.uk/society/2012/jan/13/bacon-linked-pancreatic-cancer-report
mikeymad Posted January 14, 2012 Report Posted January 14, 2012 buzkill.. oh wait 19% -- time for breakfast (with you know cured meat strips)

Personally I think that is an insane diet My 2c.... things taste a lot better when you treat yourself to it occasionally. /off soap box
mikeymad Posted January 24, 2012 Report Posted January 24, 2012 Went to Hash House a Go Go in Vegas ... Had the Little BLT... (I think there was 20 strips of bacon)
Grahame Posted January 24, 2012 Report Posted January 24, 2012 ^What was the bacon strip / dram ratio? - The new HC unit of awesomeness?
teufelshunde Posted February 1, 2012 Report Posted February 1, 2012 PB&B for breakfast at SomeCrust Bakery in Claremont,CA this morning. Sorry about the crappy corporate cellphone photo.
Voltron Posted February 1, 2012 Report Posted February 1, 2012 That looks awesome even in the crappy corporate cell phone pic.

Nothing kills the pancreas faster than a high carb and sugar loaded diet. Hello, type 2 diabetes!
Edwood Posted February 2, 2012 Report Posted February 2, 2012 PB&B for breakfast at SomeCrust Bakery in Claremont,CA this morning. Sorry about the crappy corporate cellphone photo. Peanut butter and bacon. LOL, awesome! Just had some bacon for dinner tonight. Mmmmm.
guzziguy Posted February 2, 2012 Report Posted February 2, 2012 PB&B for breakfast at SomeCrust Bakery in Claremont,CA this morning. Sorry about the crappy corporate cellphone photo. Looks good. Ah Claremont, a nice oasis in such a terrible desert.
shellylh Posted February 2, 2012 Report Posted February 2, 2012 PB&B for breakfast at SomeCrust Bakery in Claremont,CA this morning. Sorry about the crappy corporate cellphone photo. Do you live in the great Inland Empire? I grew up out there (Rancho Cucamonga).
teufelshunde Posted February 2, 2012 Report Posted February 2, 2012 Ed - Bacon for dinner is never a bad choice. Ken - Claremont ain't Santa Barbara; but it doesn't suck. Shelly - yep I'm just a stone's throw from Rancho Alta-Wanda where you grew up. And to stay on topic - since the Packers are out of it I think I'll console myself with a sip of Wisconsin Cheddar...hmmm, do I detect the taste of bacon?
guzziguy Posted February 2, 2012 Report Posted February 2, 2012 (edited) I went to high school in San Bernardino and also went to UC Riverside, so I'm familiar with the area. Yes, Claremont is an oasis and pretty nice. The areas around it are not so nice. It's not as bad as USC though. Edit: Isn't it time to rename this thread "Ode to bacon"?
