Salt Peanuts Posted November 17, 2009 Report Posted November 17, 2009 Baconnaise EDIT - oops, didn't realize it's same folks that makes Bacconaise.
tyrion Posted November 17, 2009 Report Posted November 17, 2009 My wife went to Vosges Haut Chocolate Boutique while in Vegas. Chocolate made with bacon is not bad.
Salt Peanuts Posted November 17, 2009 Report Posted November 17, 2009 My wife went to Vosges Haut Chocolate Boutique while in Vegas. Chocolate made with bacon is not bad. I dunno, for how much it costs, I expected better. For me, their bacon chocolate tasted like bacon AND chocolate, not bacon chocolate.
Beefy Posted November 17, 2009 Report Posted November 17, 2009 I have some of their Bacon Salt. Not bad, but the BLT I had for lunch today is better
jinp6301 Posted November 17, 2009 Report Posted November 17, 2009 For those who simply can't get enough bacon, especially when catching up on correspondence, there is now a solution. J & D's - Everything Should Taste Like Bacon: Products I think this is a subtle hint that Dinny wants some bacon mail.
Salt Peanuts Posted November 17, 2009 Report Posted November 17, 2009 And all J&D's are Kosher. "Yes, there are rabbis out there with enough chutzpah to certify things with bacon in the name as kosher. Fortunately, there is no such thing as eternal damnation in the Jewish faith. If you keep kosher, the good news is that all of J&D's products are Kof-K certified. Hickory, Peppered, Jalapeno, Maple, Applewood and Mesquite Bacon Salts are Kof-K Parve, while Original, Natural, and Cheddar Bacon Salts along with Regular and Lite Baconnaise are Kof-K Dairy. Please visit Kof-K :: Your Connection to the Kosher Market to learn more about Kof-K kosher certification."

Voltron Posted November 18, 2009 Report Posted November 18, 2009 Head Case, now with the great taste of bacon, mmmm http://www.head-case.org Bacontastic!
Duggeh Posted November 19, 2009 Report Posted November 19, 2009 anyone try the baconnaise yet? Strange but not bad. A bit like salty chocolate is. I wouldn't replace my Heinz or Hellmans with it though. It's worth a go.
tyrion Posted November 19, 2009 Report Posted November 19, 2009 I dunno, for how much it costs, I expected better. For me, their bacon chocolate tasted like bacon AND chocolate, not bacon chocolate. Well, I did say it was "not bad". I will say that I thought the bacon flavor was more subtle, at least the ones we tasted.
Beefy Posted November 19, 2009 Report Posted November 19, 2009 Maybe this will help In my previous research position we used pigs between 5 and 80kg...... we would catch, anaesthetise, cut the throat, and remove the lungs to take back to the lab for experimentation. Every morning as I was elbow-deep in the thoracic cavity, tearing away at the connective tissue near the diaphragm and scooping the lungs out, all I could think of was how delicious pork ribs are.

The Monkey Posted November 19, 2009 Author Report Posted November 19, 2009 ^Heh, I once worked on a merger between two pork producers. I needed to a lot of research about ham and bacon production. Delicious.
uberburger101 Posted November 20, 2009 Report Posted November 20, 2009 Bacon salt is very good with tomato soup and Subway melt.
jvlgato Posted November 10, 2011 Report Posted November 10, 2011 Sorry for the bump, but this looked too good not to post: http://www.baconfreak.com/
