skullguise Posted December 11, 2023 Report Posted December 11, 2023 (edited) Got to see Mary Fahl again last night, stunning show. Her latest 2 albums are winter/holiday music, and a covers album. Both were showcased, along with a nice dose of earlier stuff, including her time with October Project. Got to speak with her after the show, and she signed a rare CD I had (her husband said even she didn't have a copy of it). It got a "Wow...!" and a smile. No pics, but it was a small, intimate place right in my hometown! Edited December 11, 2023 by skullguise 4
grawk Posted December 11, 2023 Report Posted December 11, 2023 Took my kids to the Warren Haynes Christmas Jam on Saturday. The show was great, with the most impressive part being Myles Kennedy, who is Slash's singer. His voice is as perfect for rock as I've heard. I'm not sure how he's not more well known. Karina Rykman was also a revelation. She's a force, fantastic bass player and singer, doing interesting things with music. https://www.xmasjam.com 3

Pars Posted March 10 Report Posted March 10 Work event this week, with one of the better parties they've thrown (and they're all pretty good, this one at Reggie's Chicago). '80s theme party (though most of the crowd wasn't born then), with a co-worker's Tom Petty cover band, who were very good! 5

grawk Posted March 11 Report Posted March 11 zoomers are old enough to get married and have kids. The youngest millennials are in their mid 20s also 3
blessingx Posted March 11 Report Posted March 11 Not to belabor the point, but the dates I used… “Millennials were born between 1981 and 1996 – the name refers to the fact many came of age around the year 2000.” https://www.standard.co.uk/news/uk/which-age-range-who-generation-z-millennial-boomer-zoomer-b1073540.html
grawk Posted March 11 Report Posted March 11 I just happen to have zoomer kids, and they're all adults now. If anyone wants to hear the stuff I recorded last week: These shows haven't been approved for distro yet, so no tracking, and not posted publicly. grawk Posted March 12 Report Posted March 12 I like their new bass player a lot. This lineup is my favorite since Allen Woody died in 2001. 1

TL;DR: You're all (me, included) fucking old. 1
