NightWoundsTime Posted November 1, 2009 Report Posted November 1, 2009 (edited) I saw that the SA-1 has been launched by my boys at Sleek. 3mm dynamic driver, not balanced armature . I heard this a couple weeks ago when I went down for custom impressions, and I'll say that for $80 this thing is pretty cool. Didn't bring my own source so I ended up borrowing an iTouch from Bill@Sleek. For now I'll blame a bit of treble strangeness on unknown encryption or something. These shine in the bass and midrange, and for the price could be a nice pair of beater IEMs, or an awesome gift. Edited November 1, 2009 by NightWoundsTime
K3cT Posted November 2, 2009 Report Posted November 2, 2009 I'm in due for a portable upgrade and have been debating between the ESW9, TF10Pro or SE530. I however have discovered that I don't exactly need hi-fidelity for something which is going to be used on the road. Perhaps this much cheaper SA-1 will be right thing for me.
Fungi Posted November 2, 2009 Report Posted November 2, 2009 If SA6 build quality is any indication of general Sleek robustness, I'd look somewhere else.
NightWoundsTime Posted November 2, 2009 Author Report Posted November 2, 2009 I'll stand up for them on this one, indeed they had some missteps with the SA6 but they're turning it around now. The newest SA6 model is much more solid, and the SA1 felt very sturdy during my brief time with them.
