randerson3024 Posted February 9, 2010 Report Posted February 9, 2010 Bob you must have an epic cartridge collection by now Over 40, it has become a fetish. I love Kisekis the best, though. Quote
zippy2001 Posted February 13, 2010 Report Posted February 13, 2010 I love the Sony PS-X40 so much, that when this turntable came up for sale I could not resist (thanks 909 )... jp11801 Posted February 14, 2010 Report Posted February 14, 2010 That ps-x600 is a really nice deck and put out some great sound. I had a ps-x500 matched with a YYZ Bloom and it sounded great! Quote

I'm using David's old Denon DL-110 and it sounds very good, I'm quite pleased. Michael Jackson's Off the Wall sounds great on vinyl. I've heard a lot of good things about the XYZ cartridges. Quote

screaming oranges Posted February 14, 2010 Report Posted February 14, 2010 I"m pretty happy with my ps-x500 with zyx bloom Boo! I'm waiting for my acrylic cover to arrive so I can post pics of the whole ensemble. Also so that I can buy two one-inch mdf boards to glue together and use as base, probably with routered guides for the cover. Well, that means I have to find someone who can router that around here... I have no tools whatsoever. Quote

tom_hankins Posted February 15, 2010 Report Posted February 15, 2010 Ordered an XLR junction box to replace the SE one thats on my VPI table now. Right now I'm running SE inputs on the BAT with shorting plugs in the XLR inputs. Sound is wonderful but according to BAT should get even better. Fairly cheap upgrade (as far as upgrades go) at $300.00 from VPI. Quote
zippy2001 Posted February 16, 2010 Report Posted February 16, 2010 Has anyone ever used GruvGlide? I was looking at products to clean my records by hand, but also if it can help reduce the static electricity build up in my dry house, that would be great also. Quote
Voltron Posted February 16, 2010 Report Posted February 16, 2010 I've never done the lube route on vinyl, , but I have been meaning to buy one of those Spin Clean devices that Enjoy the Music raved about. Seems like such and easy system and supposedly works. Anybody else try it out yet? Quote
jp11801 Posted February 16, 2010 Report Posted February 16, 2010 Tough to say on the zyx vs denon dl-s1 comp as I owned them at different times but all in all I am very happy with the denon Do not use groove glide or other like products as my experience is they can damage stylus and cantilevers by leaving deposits on them. deepak Posted February 17, 2010 Report Posted February 17, 2010 Thank you for your pearls of wisdom, I'll take heed of your warning. I hope your move went well. There is a video on YouTube advertising it, I think it is marketed at DJ's (that's the impression I got). Quote
Hopstretch Posted February 17, 2010 Author Report Posted February 17, 2010 Heh heh heh. "Groove Glide". Heh heh heh. Apparently there's a large box sitting at home with a new TT in it. Now just have to get self back there to open it! Quote

Hopstretch Posted February 26, 2010 Author Report Posted February 26, 2010 Roughly set up the new OL turntable and just now giving it a first spin. Initial impression -- BIG dynamics compared to the Gyro. Quote
tom_hankins Posted February 26, 2010 Report Posted February 26, 2010 Please keep any other positive impressions to yourself. I dont need a wandering table eye. Quote
