en480c4
I know there are a number of people around here who really like Our Hearts First Meet and would like to know that her follow up is available... Amazon.com: For Blood And Wine: Rykarda Parasol: MP3 Downloads Just an amazon download for now (256 kbps), but I'm pretty sure the CD is in the works at a later date. Her official site is here. I can't say how much I love Our Hearts First Meet. The songs are stunning, with a western noir sound, and her voice is breathtaking. "Texas Midnight Radio" is the highlight for me on an album full of highlights. Downloading from amazon now... Will probably listen tonight. If not tonight, definitely tomorrow. I'm sooooooooooo looking forward to this. :ian:
skullguise
Wow, Ian, cool stuff indeed! Reminds me almost of a female Nick Cave, Western Noir is pretty apt. Her cover of The Gun Club's "She's Like Heroin To Me" is pretty very different, but I like it.... Will definitely check out more, thanks. en480c4
Her debut is a bit more accessible... It's taken me a LOT of listens to really get into the new one. It's definitely a bit more challenging, but there are some real gems here. Sometimes the ones that are slow to connect are all the more rewarding when they really sink in. Glad to hear you're enjoying it! And thanks for the reminder to update with initial impressions! Oh, and for the record, the .mp3s appear to be VBR, which is nice. en480c4
I'm more than a little obsessed with the little two track progression of "For Al Men Kill..." and "Covenant". Holy hell I love those songs. There are some killer tracks here, and while it took a little longer to get into, I'm loving this album!
