Dusty Chalk Posted November 4, 2009 Report Posted November 4, 2009 Especially with the up/down/left/right motion -- that's definitely correct either way. EDIT: Oh, look, there's 1-finger flicks, and 2-finger flicks, as well. I wonder if there are entire-hand flicks, or do you think that would require a larger interface?
tkam Posted March 5, 2010 Author Report Posted March 5, 2010 Microsoft's Courier 'digital journal': exclusive pictures and details -- Engadget Looks very cool.
jvlgato Posted March 5, 2010 Report Posted March 5, 2010 Looks very, very cool. Need to know what else it does, besides looking cool.
manaox2 Posted March 5, 2010 Report Posted March 5, 2010 WANT! Don't know if I need yet but want. Me too. I really want to play with this.
penger Posted March 5, 2010 Report Posted March 5, 2010 The videos that were just posted on the engadget link look pretty cool.
GPH Posted March 5, 2010 Report Posted March 5, 2010 i'll believe it when i see it. i also doubt that the book design is actually that good of an idea in practice. This. Also, I'm not too sure about the "funky" UI. Still, it's great to see Microsoft innovate for once and I could certainly find some use for a tablet-like device that incorporates seamless handwriting recognition.
penger Posted March 5, 2010 Report Posted March 5, 2010 It would be cool if they incorporated this: Project Gustav: Microsoft Research Updates MS Paint In a Huge Way - Project gustav - Gizmodo
riceboy Posted March 5, 2010 Report Posted March 5, 2010 Saw this in the morning. I agree it does look cool. I would be interested to see the finished product, but as it looks I am interested.
Smeggy Posted March 6, 2010 Report Posted March 6, 2010 That looks about 5 trillion times more useful than the ipad to me. If the price isn't too unreasonable...
shellylh Posted March 6, 2010 Report Posted March 6, 2010 That looks about 5 trillion times more useful than the ipad to me. If the price isn't too unreasonable... Why?
blessingx Posted March 6, 2010 Report Posted March 6, 2010 I would be interested to see the finished product, but as it looks I am interested.Didn't Ballmer say a few months ago he had never seen these 'proof of concept' videos? Doubt there's ever going to be a finished product.
morphsci Posted March 6, 2010 Report Posted March 6, 2010 meh. Book form factor = fail. Windows CE OS = fail. MS handwriting recognition = fail. No serious dedicated applications = mega Fail. And I am primarily a Windows OS user.
Hopstretch Posted March 7, 2010 Report Posted March 7, 2010 Didn't Ballmer say a few months ago he had never seen these 'proof of concept' videos? Doubt there's ever going to be a finished product. Right. Vaporware = existential fail.
Dreadhead Posted March 7, 2010 Report Posted March 7, 2010 Could the apple fanboi's please refrain from thread crapping?
grawk Posted March 7, 2010 Report Posted March 7, 2010 Could the apple fanboi's please refrain from thread crapping? That's rich, mr craps in the apple threads
mypasswordis Posted March 7, 2010 Report Posted March 7, 2010 I wonder if there are entire-hand flicks, or do you think that would require a larger interface? I believe that is called a slap.
morphsci Posted March 8, 2010 Report Posted March 8, 2010 No Apple Fan-Boy here but I must say Microsoft is certainly consistent with their interface design.
Dreadhead Posted March 8, 2010 Report Posted March 8, 2010 That's rich, mr craps in the apple threads since when? I did once and was asked not to I stopped posting to said threads.
Dreadhead Posted March 8, 2010 Report Posted March 8, 2010 No Apple Fan-Boy here but I must say Microsoft is certainly consistent with their interface design. Have you used the new Zune? Not very "Microsoft". Also WM7 certainly doesn't fit the mold.
grawk Posted March 8, 2010 Report Posted March 8, 2010 since when? I did once and was asked not to I stopped posting to said threads. Fair enough, I only notice when things happen, not when they don't...
morphsci Posted March 8, 2010 Report Posted March 8, 2010 Have you used the new Zune? Not very "Microsoft". Also WM7 certainly doesn't fit the mold. Only in the store. I'll keep my Touch thankyou. WM7 is a better interface, but not for a tablet/pad. I have it installed on my ASUS touchscreen and it is faster than Vista, but that is the only improvement I have noticed as far as useability.
