Probably most famous for "The Basketball Diaries", I'll remember him for the "Catholic Boy" album - a sweet taste of late 70's NYC punk. "They were all my friends, and they died." boomana Posted September 15, 2009 Report Share Posted September 15, 2009 That's sad and not. I hung out with him a bit at a two-week writing program at a Buddhist college back in 83 (?) 84 (?). Back then, he was coked up, spazzed out, and a bit of a drama queen diva. I did like Catholic Boy a lot, and Basketball Diaries was great back in the day. He was definitely a unique, interesting, and very talented guy that kinda self-destructed like so many. I haven't even thought about him in years. RIP, Jim. I got to met him briefly in the mid-80's as well, he still seemed pretty much "destructed" then.
