The Monkey
I only watched the last 4 minutes on the clock. I didn't get to see the kid do anything but choke up the ball, throw an interception and otherwise puke his guts out onto the field. The highlights showed the good parts, but damn it was pretty ugly in those last 4 minutes. Yeah, he had some rocky patches, but the fumble wasn't really his fault as it was a Corner Blitz from the blind side that his line decided not to pick up at all. He was nearly decapitated. I also was unimpressed with the play of most of the Texas WRs. Lots of dropped passes and even some questionable effort at some points. The last INT was a deflection that I think should have been caught. But 2 of the INTs were awful rookie mistakes. And 2 of his turnovers lead directly to 14 points. McCoy was a class act in the on-field post-game interview. Fighting back tears, he said how disappointed he was, then praised his team, his backup, and 'bama. Seemed like a nice kid. As an aside, if your name is Colt McCoy and you aren't a QB, race car driver, or top porn star, then you're doing something wrong. Overall, I thought it was a good game that reflected well on college football. The announcing was dreadful, though. Brent Musburger sounds like he might have had a stroke. morphsci
Brent Doucheburger is a loser and has been ever since he was announcing high school football in Chicago.
penger
Dunno if this is true for anybody else, but Lou Holtz just bugs me with his commentary.
MoonShine
If Texas had won I would have won the office pool for $140 Bones. I actually picked Alabama but so did the guy in 2nd and he had it weighed more heavily. So I needed to lose to win, so to speak. When McCoy went down I figured it was over. Oh well, maybe next time. March Madness is right around the corner.
