Hopstretch Posted September 11, 2009 Author Report Posted September 11, 2009 More likely the extreme magnetification of those drivers has teslatized its component moleculites.
Dusty Chalk Posted September 11, 2009 Report Posted September 11, 2009 P.S. I tried to think of something to say about my penis, but I got nothin'. Wasn't it recently stated that you can work your penis into anything?
swt61 Posted September 11, 2009 Report Posted September 11, 2009 Wasn't it recently stated that you can work your penis into anything? Nah, that was back in my drinkin' days.
Dusty Chalk Posted September 11, 2009 Report Posted September 11, 2009 Ah, so you were more well lubricated in those days?
swt61 Posted September 11, 2009 Report Posted September 11, 2009 Ah, so you were more well lubricated in those days? I had about three drinkin' days. That was enough for me. I decided I didn't make a pretty drunk. Not that I'm that pretty sober, but you get my drift.
manaox2 Posted September 11, 2009 Report Posted September 11, 2009 Ah, so you were more well lubricated in those days? It made (other) things much more attractive and the ensuing pain much more ignorable.
Sherwood Posted September 13, 2009 Report Posted September 13, 2009 Wasn't it recently stated that you can work your penis into anything? Tree trunk? Brita filter replacement? Harry Potter fan fiction? These are the questions of our day.
The Monkey Posted September 13, 2009 Report Posted September 13, 2009 These phones suck. I haven't heard them.
aRc Posted October 10, 2009 Report Posted October 10, 2009 They "blow" .....and I'll find out mid November if they "suck"..
robm321 Posted December 15, 2009 Report Posted December 15, 2009 I wasn't into the DT880 sound, but I'm definitely interested in hearing these.
mypasswordis Posted December 15, 2009 Report Posted December 15, 2009 I already own the best Beyer so I'm not interested. I haven't even heard it yet but Smeggy knows what's up.
Smeggy Posted December 15, 2009 Report Posted December 15, 2009 indeed I do These will need to be something special to compete with the ET
spritzer Posted December 15, 2009 Report Posted December 15, 2009 For them to compete with the ET1000, Beyer would have to make a neutral and even handed transducer and I quite frankly can't see that happening. Moar tesla, moar bass!!!!
Dusty Chalk Posted December 15, 2009 Report Posted December 15, 2009 You say that like it's a bad thing.
Chekhonte Posted December 16, 2009 Report Posted December 16, 2009 you can try super cooling them and putting dc current through them.
swt61 Posted December 17, 2009 Report Posted December 17, 2009 Can I mod my K1000 to have moar tesla? I can perform that mod for you Fitz. Just slide this in your CDP... That'll be Tree Fiddy and a cookie!
dreamwhisper Posted December 17, 2009 Report Posted December 17, 2009 I really liked the DT531, so who knows, maybe the t1 will be alright but, if they go with the 'electric' treble of other beyer phones (namely the 880's) it will most likely suck it would be interesting to see a comparo tho between these and hd800's, since both are going for a 'neutral' approach to me ATH's and AKG's just sound like the more coloured brands compared to Senn And Beyer
tkam Posted December 17, 2009 Report Posted December 17, 2009 I'm gonna try to keep an open mind with these and see how they actually sound. I've been surprised before.....
Currawong Posted December 17, 2009 Report Posted December 17, 2009 I'm keeping track of the drama FOTM impressions in my HF blog. So far, on first listen, Skylab has declared them better than HE-5s and another person said they have, out of the box, less detail than HD-800s. And yes, I know perfectly well what you guys think of Skylab's reviews and impressions, but I couldn't resist.
strid3r Posted December 17, 2009 Report Posted December 17, 2009 I really liked the DT531, so who knows, maybe the t1 will be alright but, if they go with the 'electric' treble of other beyer phones (namely the 880's) it will most likely suck it would be interesting to see a comparo tho between these and hd800's, since both are going for a 'neutral' approach to me ATH's and AKG's just sound like the more coloured brands compared to Senn And Beyer If the T1 ended up being a high-end version of the DT531, that would be awesome. I totally agree with you on the "electric" treble and cannot stand it. I'm not a big fan of any of the modern Beyers, but I'm hoping the T1 may change that.
dreamwhisper Posted December 17, 2009 Report Posted December 17, 2009 1) Very neutral overall response, but perhaps just a tiny bit lush ... They are, undoubtedly, a phenomenal headphone, and an enormous step forward from the DT880 (or its siblings ... 2) I am hoping for a little more top-end extension and a little more very deep bass weight after break in - but if neither of those things happen, I would still be happy. 3) w/r/t the HD800, I don't have them anymore, and so I'm not sure my comparison would be valid. But from what I've heard over the last few hours, with no break-in, I think the two are in the same league, and there are subtle differences. From memory, the HD800 has the even more expansive soundstage, but the T1's have a presence to the mids that lends a sense of musical realism beyond what I ever felt from the HD800. SO: 1) They're a lush sounding Beyer (similar to the DT531 in that respect) 2) They're not basshead phones (my impression is Skylab is a basshead) 3) They have more musical mids than HD800 (so perhaps not the authority on neutrality/boringness) Although it is still all heresay until I can hear them, this info does impress me. dreamwhisper Posted December 18, 2009 Report Posted December 18, 2009 ...still can't imagine why anyone would want these over an Omega 2 though which is only $3-400 more
strid3r Posted December 18, 2009 Report Posted December 18, 2009 ...still can't imagine why anyone would want these over an Omega 2 though which is only $3-400 more If it was me, it'd be because I already have an amp for it. The Omega 2 would really be $3-400 plus the cost of an amp to drive it.
Wmcmanus Posted December 23, 2009 Report Posted December 23, 2009 I'm fascinated by the sociological aspects of our little headphone world, when comparing the overall level of response that the T1 is getting relative to what the HD800 got when the collective knowledge base was essentially at this same stage. Of course, it was Jude himself (in a very detailed and well written review) who broke the HD800 news, and not too much later, confirming opinions by 2 or 3, and then very quickly 8 or 10 other experienced and well respected folks. After that, all hell broke loose and order books were getting filled in hours, dozens of HD800 speculation threads started popping up (would they be good with X, Y or Z, and were they priced right, etc). With the T1, about the only folks who have heard them extensively at this point are Skylab (well known, but opinions vary in terms of his ability to "get it right" in his reviews/impressions) and achristilaw (I don't know much about him and suspect I'm not the only one who doesn't). So, essentially, the T1's aren't getting much attention, whereas everyone was salivating to get a chance to hear the HD800. I'm not saying that the T1's won't suck; they may well. But from what I've read from these two guys, they seem like strong contenders. Can't say I'm ready to buy a pair on faith, however.
