jinp6301 Posted September 3, 2009 Report Posted September 3, 2009 I'm trying to get my squeezebox (v1) to play my personal Last.FM radio and it seems that the only way to do that is to get the stream url somehow. I've tried most methods that I've seen on the interwebz (squeezebox forums included) with no luck. If anyone sees a solution, I would love to know. EDIT: I know this can be done somehow since a foobar plug-in does it very well.
Dusty Chalk Posted September 3, 2009 Report Posted September 3, 2009 If someone doesn't know this offhand, I'll see if I can find it in the code.
repiv Posted September 3, 2009 Report Posted September 3, 2009 The official last.fm scrobbler can act as a radio relay. Just go to Tools > Options > Radio and specify a port. Then point your squeezebox at http://pc-ip:port. I don't think there's a way to get a direct connection, last time I checked last.fm used a proprietary streaming protocol to deter ripping.
repiv Posted September 4, 2009 Report Posted September 4, 2009 I'm an idiot, the last.fm scrobbler only listens on localhost so you can't play the stream from elsewhere on the network
manaox2 Posted September 4, 2009 Report Posted September 4, 2009 I'm an idiot, the last.fm scrobbler only listens on localhost so you can't play the stream from elsewhere on the network Slim server on the local host?
jinp6301 Posted September 4, 2009 Author Report Posted September 4, 2009 Hmm, I'm probably an idiot but I can't get the lastfm radio streaming from the scrobbler to work. When I try to open the url in squeezecenter or even foobar or vlc, it doesnt recognize the address and it does nothing.
repiv Posted September 4, 2009 Report Posted September 4, 2009 Try playing http://localhost:port or http://127.0.0.1:port rather than your LAN IP. That works for me with VLC. Also, you have to restart the scrobbler before port changes take effect.
jinp6301 Posted September 4, 2009 Author Report Posted September 4, 2009 Ahh, I didnt restart the application. Well it now works on VLC but doesnt on squeezecenter. I'm going to have to fiddle around with it to see if I can get it to work
Dusty Chalk Posted September 5, 2009 Report Posted September 5, 2009 Yeah, sorry, I know I checked out the code, but it's on neither my home machine nor on my work machine, so I have to either check it out again or download it.* So let me know if you get it, and I won't get around to it right away. * I do that a lot -- bite off more than I can chew, then put it on the backburner.
jinp6301 Posted September 5, 2009 Author Report Posted September 5, 2009 I havent figured it out yet but don't worry about it. Its not a big deal
