grawk Posted September 3, 2009 Report Posted September 3, 2009 personally, I wouldn't use the dac to tune your sound. Get the best dac you can get, then get an amp that matches well with your headphones

The more resolving/revealing/detailed, the better. The amp (and more importantly the transducer) should do the job of presenting those details in a way you find pleasing.
