Chekhonte Posted September 2, 2009 Report Posted September 2, 2009 I've been thinking about opening the earcups of the MS1i and dampening the back of the drivers like Grado does with it's higher end cans presumably to eliminate any resonance that might occur in the metal back that houses the magnet. The only thing is that I'm not to sure what material I should use. Does anybody here have any experience with doing anything like this? If not I'll probably just use a little bit of silicon gel. jinp6301 Posted September 2, 2009 Report Posted September 2, 2009 I used blu tak when I modded my 225s a while back. I didnt really notice a difference Quote
Chekhonte Posted September 2, 2009 Author Report Posted September 2, 2009 that probably means I won't notice it either then. I have pretty mediocre hearing even for a wannabe audiophile. Quote
Voltron Posted September 2, 2009 Report Posted September 2, 2009 How about after you removed your bowels? Quote
Chekhonte Posted September 2, 2009 Author Report Posted September 2, 2009 While I was in the hospital I had the doctor haruspicate using my bowels, there is a perfectly good reason why I had them removed. Quote

I don't know if you put your cans back together yet, but I used Dynamat Extreme on mine. I pulled off the Foil on both sides and used the "Tar" as a flat blob on the back of the driver. I'll send you some if you still want to damp em' Les Quote
