Voltron Posted April 30, 2010 Report Posted April 30, 2010 Just plain stupid and on a quick wedding trip to your lovely city with my wife so we didn't splurge. Thinking of upgrading to go back. This sucks.
Dusty Chalk Posted April 30, 2010 Report Posted April 30, 2010 As I sit cramped in this fucking airline seat with my shitty Dell laptop propped in my lap because the fucking person in front of me is reclined so much I cannot use it on the tray, I have officially made up my mind to buy a fucking iPad 3G. This is ridiculous. The Citrix thing will work out eventually and I can already do email and surf and whatever. Maybe the Apple Store will have one for me...Dude, kick him.
Voltron Posted April 30, 2010 Report Posted April 30, 2010 The pome has landed! Have fun Jim. I usually fly coach actually but on Virgin American I get main cabin select for work but we went cheap and went standard today. That extra room and free stuff does make a difference. oh well. And I just kicked him, Dusty.
Voltron Posted April 30, 2010 Report Posted April 30, 2010 if you have a unibody MBP with you, cut him with the palm rest edge. My wife has hers! Perfect way to get around airline security!
Grahame Posted April 30, 2010 Report Posted April 30, 2010 My wife has hers! Perfect way to get around airline security! ***** FLASH ULTRA ***** ECHELON KEYWORDS: airline security TSA HAS BEEN INFORMED: RECOMMENDED ACTION ON ARRIVAL: FULL CAVITY SEARCH
Dusty Chalk Posted April 30, 2010 Report Posted April 30, 2010 And I just kicked him, Dusty. As was said, welcome to how the other half lives.
tyrion Posted April 30, 2010 Report Posted April 30, 2010 My 3G arrived and my WiFi was dropped off at Fedex. Right now I am installing the apps I had put on the WiFi. I paid for the $14.99 data plan. I want to see how far that goes. I will test the 3G speed when I'm done.

Al did you look at the Citrix app on the iPad. It appears to do everything you were looking for.
Voltron Posted April 30, 2010 Report Posted April 30, 2010 Al did you look at the Citrix app on the iPad. It appears to do everything you were looking for. But there is some kind of server needed and a particular client app that is supposedly not available. When I run citrix on a compute, it dowloads a client each time that has to run as well. Not there yet but in the works according to my IT people.
The Monkey Posted April 30, 2010 Report Posted April 30, 2010 Prospectuses filed....almost time to go meet iPad and make sweet lo....
Voltron Posted April 30, 2010 Report Posted April 30, 2010 Prospectuses filed....almost time to go meet iPad and make sweet lo.... Barry White music playing softly in the background...
The Monkey Posted April 30, 2010 Report Posted April 30, 2010 So far, just an expensive mirror. Do you guys think the camera attachment will support a scanner? That would be pretty cool.
LarsMarkelson Posted April 30, 2010 Report Posted April 30, 2010 They're dropping like flies. JooJoo - complete junk. Courier - dead. Now HP state - dead. HP Slate Is Dead On Arrival, Says TechCrunch - Hp slate - Gizmodo Slate isn't confirmed dead reading that link... not yet at least. I'm guessing Slate running Windows 7 is dead though. Windows 7 is just not designed for use with a finger... I'm pretty surprised actually they didn't think of that before. Android on Slate could be good though.
shellylh Posted May 1, 2010 Report Posted May 1, 2010 So far, just an expensive mirror. Awesome picture.
The Monkey Posted May 1, 2010 Report Posted May 1, 2010 Played with it for about 10 mins so far. LOVE IT. Now, I can't believe I have to ask this, but what is the purpose of the flap in the middle of the Apple case? Right now it's just sort of...flapping there.
blessingx Posted May 1, 2010 Author Report Posted May 1, 2010 Sounds silly when the iPhone could do the same, but can see this becoming the center of a nice portable rig (iPod/WunderRadio/Pandora/NPR/pick your audio app). Still something about the screen real estate. Gotta get the camera kit and try the Pico.
The Monkey Posted May 1, 2010 Report Posted May 1, 2010 Tuck it in under the back of the iPad. What's its purpose?
tyrion Posted May 1, 2010 Report Posted May 1, 2010 Just think of it as the appendix of the iPad case.
HeadphoneAddict Posted May 1, 2010 Report Posted May 1, 2010 Or think of the "tucked in flap" as keeping the iPad from sliding out of the case by accident, even though it fits so tightly that it takes at least a minute to remove it from the case.
The Monkey Posted May 1, 2010 Report Posted May 1, 2010 Thanks guys, makes sense now. I pulled a near all-nighter for work the night before last. My wife found me asleep in bed with the iPad about 5 minutes after I got into bed. But not before I downloaded a ton of apps. I haven't even really used it yet and I already love this thing.
